"In 1955, the Lincoln division of Ford Motor Company designed and built a futuristic concept car called the Lincoln Futura. It was built entirely by hand in Turin, Italy at a cost of $250,000, and like many concept cars, was never put in to production. In the mid 1960's, George Barris of Barris Kustom City acquired the car for $1 directly from Ford."

Fast forward to August 1965, the "Batman" TV show producers approached George to have him build a new Batmobile for their upcoming show. The only catch was the car had to be ready for action in a mere three weeks. Seeing the bat-like qualities his Futura already had, George felt it was the perfect answer to the quandary 20th Century Fox had created.

Three weeks later, in October of 1965, the Batmobile was born and television history was made..."

I saw the Futura logo on the hood, I will call the guy and see if he wants his shop's info posted..[/quote]

Your right the info agrees with you:D

moefuzz, thanks for the freakout trip. That shit's like a big gooey wad of Brazil and Bladerunner set props, with a dash of early eighties Moebius Incal/Arzach. Wild, man.

    Google's Patent search engine,

If you know a patent number just enter it in the search. A lot of products have a patent/manufacture plate on them.

    http://www.google.com/patents

Or you can search by a name or short phrase within quotation marks like this

    "Henry Ford",

Then at the right of the search results page you can order it up 'oldest first' to Find stuff into the late 1800's relating to Ford etc similar to this.

    "Henry+Ford"

This one kicks ask, it's basically a leaf spring and a weight (item 19) attached inside the oil pan that is supposed to counteract engine vibration...

    "Henry+Ford"

A guy can spend days poking aroung in there.:)

Not too valuable for home workshops however! ;o)
