i have heard somewhere online that there is a website that you can fill out a form with all the spec's on your engine
    (make/year/bore/stroke/add-on's/etc)
And it will give you a rough estimate of the amount of hp it would produce.
Has anyone ever heard of this?
    whats the site?

    thanks

I don't know about online but there is a program you can buy, it is called desk top dyno. If you want you could just pm me the stats and I can run it for you on mine

  4. I have used it to since the early days. If you dont lie to it and are realistic, results can be so close it is scary. There is a companion program called drag strip where you can simulate a run at the drag with the dyno simulated engine. It is also very good. I have consistantly been with in 2 10th when we actually built the project after simulating it and have on one occasion been right on the money. The big area where people mess up is Cyinder heads. They will type in prostock fully ported heads for thier first set they ever did and get wonderful figures. best way to do it is type in one less head spec than you think yours should be since we tend by nature to be over optimistic. That way you will get a realistic figure and in worst case you will actually go faster than you thought. That is a lot more fun than going slower than you figured. Comp cams has a bit of program online but you have to pick thier cam to make it run which may or may not bother you. The above post is right though. the desktop dyno is an excellant program. I use it for sorting out problems as well.

The desktop dyno program I have is pretty optomistic, but it's great for seeing what combinations work well together and which don't. What it won't tell you is the streetability of your chosen combo, just power and torque.
