Anyone else find scrolling thru 45 pages of random parts irritating? I'd sure like some categories like other forums I've seen. Isn't the internet suppose to save time and effort, anyhow? Even really general categories like Frame, Suspension, Body, Engine would help save everyone from reaching for the Advil bottle. Anyway, thanks for at least giving it some thought.
This is a mainly a Hot Rod forum website. Let see here -new guy with just 2 posts and your irritated already huh ? Thanks for dropping by and bitching. The owner of the web site was nice enough to add a classifieds section for guys to enjoy. It was never intended to be a classifieds web site so if you find it irritating it's your choice to stay and enjoy it or not. The classifieds will stay as it is. Did you see the search /advanced search tab to type in what you are looking for ? No - didn't think so. Kind of like dropping by a new garage and the garage owner offers you a free beer and after you drink it said it tasted like shit. Any other questions ? Feel more than free to send me a private message. Thanks for YOUR time. Cob Classifieds Moderator
so if I whore up a couple hundred posts my opinions become worth more? --- why exactly is there a suggestions forum in the first place, then? -- and yes, after scolling thru 47 pages of randomly posted classified ads with such descriptive titles such as "garage cleaning", it is irritating. welcome to 2009, dude a huge pile of unorganized information is just as useful as none at all. sorry if you took offense to my "suggestion" - I've read it several times, and it wasn't intended to be hostile. I assumed since there was a forum for this specific topic that I'd get a little more respect, especially since you guys are asking for monetary support on your banner ads. if this is the level of maturity expected by the staff, I'm sure the members can't be much better, I think i'll try my luck on a less condescending forum, thanks
Well I don't know if all of this is really worth someone packing up and leaving over. The thing is, Shizzle, can I call you Shizzle? The thing is that this suggestion comes up about once a week. While lots of categories MAY make things a little easier to read it also greatly increases the workload. I frequent a few forums that have many more categories and all I find is confusion over what belongs in each category and things post willie nillie (yeah, I said willie nillie) and I find that even more irritating. If people had the good sense to work an ad to their advantage it would help everyone out. Then the search feature would actually work. Speaking of the search feature. It works in the Question and Suggestion forum as well. ;D Stick around, this place isn't all bad. Just the a-holes that run the classifieds.
well maybe ol corncob can help pitch in the $50 you won't be getting from me - thanks for being articulate, and not interacting like a territorial caveman. I have found some useful information so far, and that's great. That's what internet forums are for. I'm a resident tech guru on another car furum, and I never insult new members no matter how many times I get the same damn obvious question from the newbies. -- == oh, I just noticed you only have one category in the forums (sp?) now I get it.... it's like a club for old rodders who somehow figured out how to work the interweb -- you guys all stand around in one room and crosstalk if I saw earlier that your forum was still in it's infancy I wouldn't have suggested this in the first place new catergory? that's crazytalk!! who is this whipper-snapper??!!? nevermind, I totally stuck my foot in my mouth -- aaaak---waaard

Thanks- I didn't take offense to your information suggestion at all. My reply was not intended to be hostile at all. Sorry if you took offense to my reply. Respect ? You should have been here a few years ago - you would have been ripped a new one by 10,000 guys by your "irritating" and "Advil" comments. Thick skin is required,we have mellowed over the years - just ask the Ol'Timers. 2. I do this for fun and FREE so you won't be getting $ 50.00 from me. I noticed your "Introduction" was short and sweet "give me Model A Parts and I'll be happy" Now you want $ 50.00..... What is this, Corporate Bailout week ? Joke 3. If you are a resident tech guy on another site like you mentioned, then you have experience with Newbies who "put their foor in their mouth" and you probably have the same initial reaction as a fellow Moderator I would think - maybe - maybe not. Consider this question ( with respect you mentioned) a Professional Courtesy Question... Ever have one on their 2nd post - post that they were irritated with how your site is ? Stick around if you'ld like and see how things work. As far as the $ 50.00 to be an Alliance member - just private message other Alliance members and see what they get for their $ 50.00. If you need parts for your Rod or Custom - it is a no brainer. It's a good deal. We don't run newbies off - just the ones with really thin skin. This is a greasy knuckles garage to shoot the crap and and have some fun with Hot Rods and Customs. Thanks Cob Classifieds Editor
We aren't. We are all assholes. In fact you should go on the bigger forum on this site and let us all know how badly you need to change your manpon. Maybe someone can even brush the sand out of your mangina for you. Cob is about as fair a moderator there is. I've butted heads with a couple of members, but if you think this was worth crying over, you might want to rethink your stay, because Cob treated you with respect, much more then any others will.
