I saw Jeff Neppl's mercury in Car Culture Deluxe. I really like this car. Does anyone have any more pics or info about it? I really love the chop and the stance, it's perfect. I originally was going to eliminate the body reveal around my back window and taper it into the deck lid (like bad bobs), but now I think I'm going to keep the reveal. Dick Dean's last chop is truly amazing. Everything is in porportion. The 1/4 windows are perfect too and are even functional. I only hope my Merc project turns out half s nice as this 1. Thanks Matt
I have a few on my site. Hope to get more soon. Click the photo to see more. Kustoms Illustrated photo...
Hey whats up fatford? I am Jeff neppl the owner of that merc,I just signed up this morning so bare with me im trying to learn how to use this site.Im sorry you saw the deluxe magazine, that layout was a total joke I was embarrased of how they represented my car and Dick Deans final chop.It came out on the cover of Kustoms Illustrated issue # 18,now that magazine did a real feature on the car.I hope you got to see that magazine but its not as widely distributed as Deluxe. Thanks for the compliments on my merc I really appreciate that.
Welcome aboard Jeff!! You own a very Kool Merc. I've almost worn out my "KI" by looking at it every night. the proportions are purrfect. My favorite picture that I've seen is what Luke did right inside the magazine. Very kool Photo shop. This needs to be a poster. Kustoms Illustrated did a Rodders Journal quality feature on jeff's Merc. http://www.kustomsillustrated.com/Home Page 06.htm Happy Trails, Mick
I have that KI copy and it's in my pile of three Merc articles I look at all the time while I decide stuff on my car. Nice car Jeff!
Hey StrayKat, thanks for the compliments man that is very cool.I agree with you about that pic that luke did,it is worthy of a poster. In case you didnt recognize the merc on the wall that is Jerry Quesnel's mercury in it's early version.Since that car was my inspiration for the way I did mine Luke threw that in,kind of like Jerry's merc looking down on mine. It's kind of a trip because some of the pictures when they get on the computer screen the car looks orange,it looks a lot different in person(colorwise) then it does in photos.Anyway thanks for that Rodders Journal comment that was way cool.
Thanks for the compliment, thats a honor to hear you say you look at my mag to get ideas for your sled you are building. Goodluck on that,I would love to see some pictures..
Hey JeffSled.. Gotta say man, your Merc is one CLASSY looking car! Very, very nice..And one many should look to for inspiration. Tony
It's about time FUCKER!!!!! Good to see you're a HAMBer now!!!! I'm adding you to the HAMB Merc Club...
Anybody know where I can get a copy of Kustom Illustrated #18? I went to the website and it says that issue is sold out. I really got to see that article. Love your car Jeff. Is it all stock under the hood too?
Yes the car is a basecoat red with a little custom mix to it with only a semi gloss topcoat on it. That is not the final paint job but it will stay like that for a while. The pictures that Bob posted on this thread are what the color looks like in person. Oh ya, thanks again for your compliments on the sled.
Very Nice Jeff !!!!, Perfect in fact. I hope to see it soon in person, hopefully your heading up to the Sacramento Autorama? Or even better are you taking it to GNRS this month?
Welcome aboard Jeff, we are proud to have such a super classic Merc. and its handler in the H.A.M.B. familia!! Bob's pictures are really showing its full on badness!! So super incredible!! ~Sololobo~
I dont think Bob took those pics cause those are from Art Chrismans christmas party last month and I didn't see Bob there.Whoever took them took some nice shots and thank you for the compliments.
I had a couple people ask if I had any more pictures of my car,so I just made my first album titled "My Sled" so if you want to see any pics go check the album out.
