Here is one I started awhile back. Do not really like the way it looks when sitting on the funny car chassis so am going to modify a pro mod chassis to mount it on ">
This is what I felt like doing when I mounted the Mooneyes body onto the funny car chassis and realized how bad it really looked. ">
I had a old project -1964 c10, that got creamed on my work bench from a diecast falcon rolled off and smashed it! So I made a truckster from it.. Am i green is I recycle old projects? Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki
This is something that i got at a swap meet and it was chopped bad so i redid it and just used some parts that were lying around to make a chassis. Hopefully the rear which is four linked will be poseable. Not sure on motor but i do have a lonely sbc with webers sitting on the desk
Anyone but me old enough to remember these magazines from 70-71 ? I've digging thru my old magazines and found them
Yeah, I always dug seeing what others were building. The show winners were always cool to see. I had a subscription and I still have a few.
This is not a model I built. But a good friend completed it quite a few years ago. And just recently made a gift of it to me. I think the detail in the car is quite good for being made out of modeling clay. He now builds models in matchbox scale or less. And I will try to get some pics for you guys for next week. I don't know how he works in the small scale that he does now cause (I CAN BARELY SEE THEM) THANKS...ghost
I remember them. I used to go to the newsstand about every other day to see if the new issue was out.
They used to bring O.K. money but the market has become a bit more satuated as of late. They are certainly worth more than throwing them away. More than when new.
i made some nice models a few years ago but i tore them all apart and made slotcars out of the bodies
Some cool builds people, that Modeling Clay T is awesome, now thats scratch building!! Skinanbones, I have a half finished one of them, it has been chopped and the hood pancaked but its been dropped and is coming apart, your welcome to it for postage? If you want I will dig it up and take a pic for you. Its one of the kits I couldn't sell, no one wants built ups or partial built ups! Heres where Im up to on my Fuel Coupe, a quick mock up, still need to finish the body and cut out the wheel wells. The front end is borrowed from another model just to see what it all looks like. I wasn't sure about the 421 Poncho with the Potvin blower until now, I like the look. This is a stock 32 body between the Fuel coupe and another one I chopped. This shows just how much work has gone into the FC body! Doc.
Sweet Doc! Its nice to see you showing some progress every week What a difference in the size of the body..thats rad man.
There a bunch of great models this week. Glad to see gowjobs post some pics. Doc that one is coming along nicely too. The chev modified is cool. It makes me think about building something similar. Nothing new from me this week. Just slowly working on some long term projects.
These are great looking pictures of you guys cars. Makes me want to get back into modeling. I have offen wonded if people still build models. Great to see they do. GCWRED
Thanks Ryan, I have a bit of down time at the moment so I can do some stuff! Hey Supersized, can you ask your mate what paint he used on the 'Beach City Chevrolette' Vette funny please? They are nice builds. Doc.
I worked on one this past weekend WILD WILLLIE BORSCH funny car from 1973. One my son got me for Christmas which I had in 1973. My son worked on his GENE SNOW from 1975.Its fun, when its cold outside and our shop dont have heat....so we build models....
Not that I come in here much. But i decided to try and get one as close to being done as possible, figure I would post it. The digital pic color is a little off:
