I posted about a 49 Hudson that I found for sale, for $3200.I asked if the car was worth it as I had know ideal of its value.Everyone said buy it.So Monday the guy that took me to see it tried to find the owner. He stopped 4 times and called with no luck,I went to the house on Tuesday and Wednesday. When I got there Wednesday the car was gone,My buddy finally got in touch with the owners niece and she said the car was sold for $2000.Now I am sick! Someone got a hell of a deal. The car was just outside Taccoa Ga.Did one of you get it?

Pull the trigger if it is something You want, and buy it. If not p*** it on to someone else. But dont post the location and info ,on a hot rod board thats read by thousands of car nuts. I think someone won't snach it up.

Yeah, that's happend to me before. I post a pic of a car I found because I'm excited about finding it but not sure what it's worth, and someone who has been keeping an eye on the car sees the post and runs over and ******es it up before you get back there. Now I don't do that too much. :)

  6. Your first thread should have been, look at the car I picked up two hours ago.

Don't ask others if it's a good deal. Ask yourself is this a good deal for me.

So.......I just got back from GA. Man what a long trip......but you should see what I bought..........

In my opinion, most of these "Lookie what I found.....is it worth it?" threads are just bragging for the most part, and I think it's funny as hell when these things that are so obviously bargains end up being sold out from under the original poster.

****s for you but when you get down to it, think about this...

You posted up a deal on the Hudson and asked for opinions. You got a overwhelming response to go for it OR p*** it to another HAMBER. Then you dipped out. Bottom line? Lose/lose for everyone. My worthless .02

OK I learned a lesson.Don'T tell anyone until its in your yard. But if your not into that type of car where do you go to get information on value and desirability? My back round has been into old trucks. So I have a good ideal on what a 49 ford would be worth,But This was the first 49 Hudson I came across and sure it looked like a neat old taildragger,But that doesn't mean its a worthwhile project,Heck I did a 63 Ranchero 260 v8 4speed car that I thought would make a great driver and when I went to sell I could only get $6000 for it and that was for a ground up rebuilt. And yes it was not a Barrett Jackson car but it was a great driver that was cheap to drive. So my intention on posting it here was to get opinions from guys that where into this type of car.Now if I had a 57 Anglia 2 door had top with a rust free body,How would I know its worth?

  27. Hopefully you learned an even better lesson....asking price don't mean ****.
