Sounds perfect to me. everyone needs a truck and that sounds like it fills the bill and looks great doing it. Wish you had more pics of it in your album.

When it comes to vins and info on old ford f1s and f-100s and 9n, 2n, and 8n tractors Dennis Carpenter and Sacramento Vintage Ford are great. They also have great catalogs. Check them out at www.dennis-carpenter.com and www.vintageford.com I have found up to 55 the vin is in the glove box and 56 up its in the drivers door.

  6. Be aware that the VIN plates on the cab door and glove box door are considered by the manufacturer to be "for convenience only". It is very possible that the glove box door or cab door, or even the plate itself has been switched or replaced during the truck's 50-year life. The 'Official' VIN number is stamped on the frame. It's always nice to have a title that matches the frame number. Replacement (reproduction, blank) VIN plates for the glove box are available.

I have a 1973 Ford truck in satin black and lowered and YES its a F-100. Not many people showing the 60's and early 70's because they are still F-100's. Anyway I can't get my picture to load but I am now looking for some WWW tires for mine to put on the steel wheels. Below is some pictures of my progress!

  17. Here is a '56 Ford pickup i just picked up. Sitting on a '78 Chevy 1/2 ton chassis, it also uses the Chevy SBC drivetrain. Nice ride height and great front independent suspension. Looks like it will be a nice driver. The gas tank has also been moved to under the truck box.

My wife has claimed this one for herself!

Not an expert by any means
F1 started in 48 and ran to 52'
F100 started in 53 and ran until 82' I believe.
F150 have no idea... my friend

  25. Thanks! I just got the hood on it today, front end is done, bumper on & lights in and working. I used headlight rings from a 51' Caddy.... cool. My back tires should be here in about 2 weeks (15" street slicks) I'll put them on the 15"X10" Vintique's smoothies I got. Then to answer your question.................... I'll pull it out of the shop and post a few more pictures

That truck looks great so far. Those wheels on it now, what are they, they look familiar, like what mydad had on his '69 Roadrunner. What are your plans with them after?

  27. The front ones are 14"X7 Superior. Survivors from the 70s. The rears are 15"X10 Weld Rodlight, fairly new with Mickey Thomson Sportsmans. I will put them up for sale........
