  4. Most of you were speeding and driving reckless. That's not tolerable on this forum so I digged out your personal info and mailed the tickets. SHAME ON YOU!

    130 in a '96 Z28,
Bounced the 125 limiter in my '97 Civic, had another 1500 rpm before redline,
Buried the 100mph needle in the Comet before the straight axle.

i was on a ot hopped zx6r. wearing an open face dirtbike helmet with the visor and small goggles. i was at the top of third and the last thing i saw on the bike was 154. looked up and the wind caught that visor just right, flung that fucker clear off my head but left the specs. i was too scared to look down and too pumped to stop. kept in it to the top of 5th. never found out the top speed and never tried it again. last time i ever wanna go that fast on 2 wheels without the proper gear and a closed course. also did bout 160 riding with my pops through nebraska in a 95 impala ss.

    I like speed.....

    180mph on a Hayabusa
    130mph 82 Chev pickup(does 120mph in 1/4 mile)

But the most fun is 215mph in 1320 feet!

  10. 1972 in my 66 Fairlane 390/4speed..somewhere over 130 or so. Speedo was pegged a couple of miles back..still accelerating...on I85 going out of Charlotte towards Greenville.
There ain't no way in hell to drive like that now around Charlotte,I was weaving in and out of traffic but now its waay too crowded. Was doing about 120 in my Vette when a guy pulls out in front of me on a 4 lane in Alabama.I hit the brakes and miss him by about 6 inches still doing maybe 70....that was it for me.I was shaking so bad I haven't been over 70 since in any vehicle.

    165 on my then-new '93 CBR900RR. Black/silver/orange scheme. God I miss that bike.

(Oh, and Mach 1.2 in a T-38 during USAF flight school 20 years ago.)

Fastest in a car is probably around 125mph, in my old 350 powered 63 bel air. The speedo didn't read right but the needle disappeared. 60mph was 2200rpm and I was at 4700 in top gear when I chickened out.

Fastest I've been on land by any means was the maglev train in Shanghai - 431km/h, or about 258mph.

we departed at 10.00 on the dot - this was the speed readout 3 minutes later.

would have been more fun with a wailing V8 soundtrack, though.

  13. A documented 156.997 in my kid's Porsche 951 Turbo [got the T-shirt to prove it] and a year later, after replacing the turbo with a "big boy" turbo and wastgate, I sat in the pasenger seat watching the needle peg at 160 and we kept accelerating....we were on a closed race course on a 4 mile straight stretch.....hope to do it again this summer.

From a country that produces the most balls out rally drivers, and has produced the most rally world champions full stop, and formula one world champions per capita we get an "shame on you" speed post, lmfao!

Done 130Mph (208kph) on the highway from helsinki to tampere, and never got pulled over....

The cops couldn't catch me in their Ladas....lol

I wasnt driving, but when I was 7 or 8 I remember driving with my dad in his 66 riviera with a 465 wildcat innit , got up to 130, started shakin', 131..132...133...134...135 it started shuddering like it was gonna disintegrate. started decelerating, got down to about 120ish and a power steering line exploded spraying red juice everywhere. looked like we ran over a leper.

fastest I've ever driven was 120-122, my tires are bigger than original so I'm not positive as to exactly how fast I was going on the 210 fwy

Long distance sustained speed of 147mph from Paris to Orange in France, driving a Renault 5 GT Turbo.

Short distances 165mph+ (didn't have much time to look) in several cars, mostly Porsche and Ferrari on the German Autobahn. And probably even faster then that on the track, Donnington park mostly, but those cars didn't have speedos.

Worst letter I ever got, French highway patrol, they timed me going onto the toll road in the North of France and exiting just before Paris, my average speed was 183 Kph (~122mph) they asked me nicely to slow down next time. Fun part was, I stopped halfway to get gas, so who know what my cruising speed was.

raced my midget at sun prairie wisconsin. speeds close to 100mph, which is no big deal, but then you got to get the car on the right rear and hang a left.

  24. Little over 125 on a 750 Honda, glanced down at the speedo just before the turn came up, It was scarer than clowns.

According to the factory speedometer, my friend Fred & I were exceeding 140 MPH in his new 66 427 Vette;.......on a blacktop surface. It was scary!!!!! I was 19 at the time & waiting for the next draft notice for the Army....and Vietnam.

Back in 1969, did 142 in a '69 f'bird through a 50MPH construction zone just north of Marysville, WA on I-5. It was still pulling when I shut it down.
State trooper was just setting up his radar when I blasted through.
He caught up to me about 20 miles away.
We had a little bench racing session at the side of the freeway, then raced for the ticket.
I beat his 440 mopar cruiser.

  30. Once at the Hot Rod Power Festival @ Atlanta Dragway our car club was the host club and I talked my way into a ride with Tony Christian on a qualifying run. He told me if I came up with my own firesuit and helmet and I had to pack the chute afterwards. 201.43 I got the signed time slip. The other was with me driving a friends injected Lamborghini Diablo. I was focusing on the road he watched the speedo. I told him when I hit 200 I would back off. By the time he told me and I backed off we hit 210. It was still pulling. He told me that that was the fastest he had ever been. For some reason he won't let me drive it again.
