The new project: i bought a '27 model t pickup for $750 from a local guy no frame or drive train just the body, firewall, dash and misc upholstery. i plan on doing the entire build myself from chassis to paint, this is my very first build so bare with me. heh. Ill update my build from time to time but im not very computer savvy. Again, bare with me. Heres some pics of my project. C&C is welcomed. So its been cold as hell here with 16'' of snow on the ground i havent been to motivated enough to start grinding and welding yet. The original idea for my rod was a 350/PG combo but that was thrown out the window when i found this motor in the classifieds. I wanna thank fellow hamber Moon Man for this '59 348. this motor mated to a PG will fit the theme a lot better then a run of the mill SBC. BTW, im building this as a 60's esque show car. Heres some pics, im taking it up to the shop next week to start banging out the rear suspension. More updates to follow.
make sure you keep in mind that a PG needs a bell crank for line pressure wish someone had given me that advice also locar shifter install on a PG is a****** good luck and cool project tk
Don't bet on it. I've seen these guys in action around here. haha. Great project, man. Looks like it's going to be super cool when it's all said and done. Love the rolling stock, too! Classy.
hey buy what you want thats what i say.... but just to let you know that if you need to have the car done in a day or two and you say to yourself "self that will be easy and not take too much time" your in for a rude awakening or you could learn from my mistakes and put the shift arm on while it is still on the bench tk
lol yeah . i learned that one from my non hamb friendly ride. slapped a quarter stick in that****** and called it a day.

bought it from a dude in leavitsburg. he and his brother got a hot rod shop out in newton falls , blackies rods i think. they do a lot of woodies and fiberglass stuff.

Finally got some time to work on the PU, i have the ladder bars finished which i dont have any pictures of yet and im dang close to finishing the mock up for the rear suspension. Today i took some time at the shop to do some government work. I used a length of 2" dia. HR A36 and cut it to fit between the frame rails for the coil-over crossmember (yeah i know theyre billit, sorry). Then i threw it up on the mill and drilled 15 1.188" holes in it 1.625 from the ends and 2.5" BC. Then went back and used a straight flute reamer and opened them up to 1.25" and smoothed them out as well. I debured all the holes and set the crossmember aside. One of many perks of my job is i can plasma cut anything from 24ga to 2.25 inches thick, in house. I programmed the mounts for my spun fuel tank and burned the shapes i needed. with a little imagination i think youll get the idea, some thing like this is what im after: some pics:
and sumore................. I need to bore a hair over two inch hole in the center of the small end in my tank bracket to slide over the crossmember, im also going to use a CT reamer to open up the bolt circle holes in the brackets. i need to use a carbide tipped reamer because when holed gets "burned" in plate it hardens the surface. after that im gonna cut the big end in half and weld on bolt flanges so that i can take the tank in and out. ok its late, im getting loopey. updates when i can, thanks for lookin. oooooooh i just came up with a name, The HOLEYER THAN THOU RPU. thatll be awesome when its the center fold of REBEL RODZ magazine right?? ok im*****in around.
