  2. HAHAHA Just not getting it are you.

  3. This site is about TRADITIONAL hot rods and customs. Your car is neither. Very well built but not at all what this site is about.

  4. This is a Custom too! But,do you want to see it on the HAMB?

nice warm welcome that poor guy got, just think had he thrown WWW on steelies people would be complimenting the guy

  14. Uh...no! Couldn't have been more out of place here. WWW's wouldn't have helped his car,it would have ruined it! The direction he went with his car was exactly what he wanted and shouldn't be questioned. That's HIS vision,NOT ours! Maybe he realized he was in the wrong place.
YES! It was a nice build...

Did you actually see the pics of the car in question??

Or are you playing insert sarcastic phrase here and have no idea what you're talking about?

Next time a mini-trucker posts pics of his ride on here I'll send him your way and you can tell him to put WWW on it and pat him on the back.

Wow, this thread sure took a big left turn! I was expecting to see a lot of nice custom Studes, instead I saw a lot sarcastic remarks and critisisum.
Not the "kinder, gentler" HAMB I remember.

I saw the pics of the bullit nose stude with the chop top
if its something else thats fine, but Honestly being a rude on line gets you no where
if you want to promote the site and have people pay to join the Alliance, try some respect, its lacking these days

  22. I agree but it is a two way street. If you are going to join this site or any other site have the respect to find out what it is about and how things are done before you post. It's pretty easy to learn how this site works and far too few take that time before they come on here and post off topic stuff. I wouldn't go to a restoration site and post picture of a car that I had chopped up to make a hot rod or custom so why do guys insist on posting off topic cars on here? Easy because they are too lazy to take some time and find out how things work and then get upset when they are told there stuff doesn't fit in.

Now let me get this straight.
Putting pics of the wild customs by Barris, Starbird, and other 60's builders is considered iconic & tradional to this site, but the moment I put up my vision of what my custom is all about, it's all of a sudden not what this site is about.

This build, from the ground up, and that's including a custom built frame by me, took 10 years to this point. It's taken a lot of blood, sweat and tears to get to here, many body modifications & alterations, from a 3" chop, remote tilt clip, concave exhaust rockers, ducktailed trunk lid to custom rear roll pan, etc. so I'm very proud of what I've accomplished.

And yes, I plan on making several Tours with this car, does that make it any less traditional and not worthy of recognition amongst the old builders of yesteryear. Where did THEY get THEIR start, and were they told their builds weren't welcome.

So for those that missed what they were referring to and wish you could have seen the car, here is some pics. If you care to see more, say the word and I'll post again.
I did however change plans from TRADITIONAL black to a Sunset Orange Carizzma, sorry about that.

Bulletnose that is sweet. helluva job. Wish I had half the talent/experience. I'm keeping mine simple. It's all I can afford, and all I know how to do. I figure I'll learn some tricks while workin on the car.

You are absolutely correct with this statement. Your car is NOT what this site is about.
Did you put a lot of work into it? Yes.

Is the build quality top notch? Yes

Do I like the car? Yes

Does it belong on the HAMB? No.

This site is about traditonal cars not billet wheels, not low profile tires and not modern leather interiors.

You have built a very nice street rod which like it or not does not belong on the HAMB. You may not have been told in the nicest way but it is how this site works and your reception was warm compared to what it used to be. Stick around if you like. I would encourage it there is a ton of great info and people here, including Bad Bob. And by the way we have already discussed the intervention with him about his post count.:D They are just very protective about keeping this site about Traditional Hot Rods and Customs. Don't take it personally just don't expect people to welcome your car with open arms on this site.

This one was built around '61, and is shown on Daytona Beach.

It still exists today, painted yellow and with Hawk fins on it. Great car!

Agreed 75%. I'm still up in the air if I like it or not. Now that I can see the pics for more than 5 mins, I'll study it more carefully.

If you're gonna join this site you gotta have a thick skin, just because your current ride isn't really HAMB friendly, doesn't mean you don't belong here. There's alot of guys on here with borderline street rods, but they take the criticism and jokes.

65,000ish members, I think we do alright. You don't see Ryan trying to pry $50 out of the pockets of mini-truckers, street-rodders, and rice burners do ya?

I am getting awfully confused here. Try explaining traditional again please. Paint, no paint? Fenders, No fenders? Chop, no chop? Flathead only, or??? I looked all over here and don't seem to understand from one day to the next.
