Congrats, you have a beautiful car and deserve the award!

  3. Well deserved...congratulations...

  4. I was late for the H.A.M.B. pole and no where near the GNRS but, based on what I could
see in the photo's posted here, I'd have voted for this roadster as well. Hands down.
Great job and congratulations, you deserve it.

Maybe the best looking channeled deuce roadster ever....and definitely one of the best hot rods built in recent years.

    Congratulations Tom!

Nice one Tom , you know how I feel about your car, it's badass, very well deserved , What company we keep eh? its nice to call yourself , Jimmy , Troy , Chuck etc friends , we all have the same passion for what we do & it's very humbling to be picked by our peers & dug by fellow HAMB members . What a brilliant weekend , very memorable.

Again Congrats Man , see you on the road in our Roadsters .

Ryan has to be commended for allowing all the HAMBers the opportunity to vote for our choice of top roadster. I agree that the GNRS judges and their award is against what Hot Rodding is all about. I'd be surprised if any of their winners are actually anything more than works of art that never see the street. Congrats to you for a beautiful roadster thats a real driver. The FOGGER

My first Hot Rod was a channeled 32 Ford roadster I payed $275.00 for,... and never liked the look of channeled 32 Roadsters with the exception of the Fred Steel car, But the first time I seen your car it just knocked me out,.... and frankly I like it even more than the Fred Steel car.

Congratulations !,... But I have a request,.... sense your the recipient of the first ever
Jalopy Journal GNRS "Best Roadster" award,... how about a full build thread with all the statistics and pictures of the build ? I think it would make a good read and a very important addition to the HAMB,.... IMHO

Tom, well deserved! I've seen it several times @ Bonneville in all of it's bare metal glory, seeing it in paint on the "carpet" @ GNRS was even better! You're roadster epitomizes what a hot rod is or should be, congrats!!

  17. Awesome roadster and the fact that it's driven is even more cool. They way they should be. :)

  18. Great car, great family, great friends, you are truly blessed. Congratulations.

Tom, I think this is so cool for you, I KNOW what you started with and am blown away with the fortitude and for the hard work to bring this car to what it is. You and Fab are the MAN, I know you had alot of help from friends and I hand it to them for their help. Congratulations. That car smokes.--TV

I've been big fan of your sedan since the first time I saw it.... Just sumthin' about it.. It's easily the best deuce sedan out there. That same "sumthin'" is dripping off your roadster..... It's just "right", in every sense of the word.

It's not easy to make a channeled deuce look good but you did.

Good job! I remember the first time I saw that car, it looked like a collection of patch panels. You and Fabian did a great job turning it into a milestone hot rod.

Congrats on the award, very well deserved!

I was sad to see it shoved in the art building but at least it was in good company! :D

Congratulations, Tom. The other cars were great, but yours just popped off the page as THE one from the get-go! Perfect in every respect!

  27. Congrats Tom. Thought I'd post the picture I took of it. Being in building 3 gave it such a cool old time museum time quality as well.

Great build! But, Hamburgers, how about a little cred to the Studebaker V8 in it? Been telling everyone for years, put a Stude or a Packard V8 in a rod and it'll blow away the belly-button crowd every time!;)

    thnx, jack vines

First, congradulations on the award. It is truely a beautiful car and very deserving of all the praise. And as a another Stude guy, I can say it just adds to the whole appeal.

(and I won't even bring up the fact that the stance is due to the 800 pounds of cast iron over the front wheels...:D).
