I'm thinking about going. I've never been to this swap meet. I'd like more info on about it. Inside? Size? What kind of items can I expect to be for sale?

Nah, stay home. :D Only five buildings full of car parts. Scheib, Gator, Harrison and Kennedy will have it all bought up by opening time, anyway.

Every year there seems to be a higher percentage of mullet parts but that's life.

No, you won't find a set of Arduns or 3W deuce body, but you may find some much needed piece at a decent price.

Wow! I had no idea it was that large. Glad to hear it is inside the buildings. I definitely plan on going.

1 day only at the nashville fairgrounds. I missed it the last two years as it was on a drill weekend, but I'll be there this year.

    It's ONE day - Sunday Feb 1.

Actually it's eight buildings and LOTS of stuff...no beany babies or jewlery- just parts and more parts.

and complete cars outside in the car corral, if you're looking for one.

I'll be there...working... just ask for 'Tom' at the front desk. :D

I will be going.I usually find something I don't really need to buy there.Just ad it to my 'someday' collection. There is usually a pretty good eclectic blend of parts there.Although like said before, seems like the Camaro boys get more and more abundant the last few years.

  17. I went last year for the first time. I'll drive up from Huntsville early. Doors open at 6am. Last year I got there about 7:30 and there was a big crowd. I'd say that any really great bargains were gone shortly after the doors opened.

I used to sell our English Wheels at various swap meets. This one is different. Very few if any big vendors. Most everyone is just emptying out their garage. I got a rebuilt truck column, a vintage steering wheel, and some misc tools and junk. There was a guy there with a bunch of collapsible crates from a Nissan factory. REALLY handy. Knock down to about 2" thick but when popped up they're 6-12" high. Another guy had 4x6 pads for standing on that were 10 bucks each.

I went a couple years ago and thought the prices were a little high, but with the economy the way it is they may be more reasonable now. Wandered around three or four hours and didn't find anything I couldn't live without. The $1.60 gas will help keep the cost of the trip down this time tho. Jim you going again this year?

stopped by a couple years ago for about the 6th time to check out his stash wasnt able to buy anything. he is very high on his prices, tried to buy a 40 ford dash sitting on the ground with the right corner buried about 3 in, picked it up and sat it on another auto, he wouldnt sell it was going to use it on a project. and as he said he has alot of cars and parts and steady buying other ones but if you have something he wants he will trade.

I'm thinking that we all need to make and wear homemade shirts that say "Looking out for Nelson Bandy" so that we can identify fellow HAMBers. OK, maybe not.

Here's some of what I'll be looking for, in case any of you have 'em to bring along:

    U-channel for same

One 15x5 or 15x6 5 on 5" steel wheel (full size GM and others)

    Model T driveshaft

Matched pair of 390 cfm Holley four barrel carbs (or maybe a pair of 500 cfm, or small cfm AFB's?)

two four barrel base plate for a Ford oval air cleaner

the little plug that goes in the top of a Ford 429 CJ shaker

    Model T aluminum Z head

C3OE casting number 289 four barrel intake manifold

ONE (yes, just one) old style Edelbrock SBC valve cover (curved "Edelbrock" lettering)

If I have any money left after getting the essentials (or not finding them), I might be interested in these items:

    '32, 33, or 34 Ford pu/commercial grill shell at a bargain price

'33 Ford pu hood for the going price

'32, 33, or 34 Ford pu body (w/doors) in fairly decent condition at a reasonable price

I love that swap meet, Dad and I have been going for years. The last major thing I bought up there was a set of 57 Caddy caps all were in great condition with faded centers for $65.

There are some deals to be had.....but I have noticed a lot of 60's stuff there the past few years.

That's a plus for me...I need as much of that as I do the older stuff.
