    Here's the story;

Fellow Iron Lord, MoFo, was driving down the road the other day and spotted a rusty old car in the woods behind a house. He told Hotdamn and they went back to talk to the homeowners about the car. The homeowner asked (in broken english) do you like that car? Then asked if they wanted it and they said yes. He said "you can have it".

So today myself, Hotdamn, MoFo and our good buddy Justin got it out. We dug, lifted, swore, lifted, carried, lifted and loaded (with the assistance of a skid steer) it on the trailer and trucked it to our shop. It took us about 5 hours to recover the poor car but it was very gratifying.

The car is too cool. It appears that it may have been started but never completed. We found no proof that it had motor mounts, tranny mounts but it has a '37 Ford front end, axle that was narrowed, shortened radius rods, juice brakes, solid mounted (welded to the frame) very narrow banjo rear, radius rods that were cut off and just clamped to the frame, front and rear wheel wells were wacked. We found a bunch of miscellaneous stuff laying inside and around the car. Stuff like a pedal assembly, crossmember, tranny mount, a side of a 3 speed tranny, driveshaft, seats, a very cool header which looks to be for a SBC, 1 aluminum slotted mag wheel, and some other wheels and stuff.

We're not sure what the fate of the car will be but what we do know is that with the assistance of Jeffery James, our club has named it..."Left For Dead"

    Here is a couple teaser shots;

    almost as found..

Hotdamn has tons of detailed pics. We'll post them soon.

We are all pretty stoked! It's a neat little car.

Wow. Hope you guys told the property owner a nice thank you for giving it away.

Was the firewall cut out of it? I have a hard time believing that any engine would fit in the stock engine compartment.

We sure did. They were more happy to see it go.

As for the firewall, yes, it was cut out.

so thses pics are from the start of the morning with just myself and bloody knuckles.
cyco mofo and our friend justin had not gotten there yet.

and for the record I can't wait to see what Tudor is going to have to say about the second to last pic or Bloodyknuckles gettin his Mr. T on...

one of my favorite things on this car is the hard welded rear end and the cut off wish bones in the back that are clamped with u bolts???

yea so that 37 tube axle that is seriously shortened is definately cool but breaks my heart all the same...
and I have never seen any brake drum rust out like that!
    wtf?
the super narrow banjo is cool as hell too.

and yes this is a very small car but that thing was not as light as it looks!

in between taking pics I was trying to help bloodyknuckles and mofo carry the front while our buddy justin took care of the backside with the bobcat...

(as a side note I almost broke my jaw with a shovel handle that slipped when I was prying on the front drum...)
it is very sore and swollen at present.

    I am a ding dong...

and yes that 37 tube axle has a big booger stick weld holding it together in the center. :)

I also love the torched out wheel wells:)
looks like a beaver chewed em out!
the unboxed rails are pretty neat too:)

so on the way back to the shop our buddy justin was driving the truck
and smacked a light pole with the ass of the car!

    oops!

but for as long as this thing had set it is surprisingly salvageable.

the guy that lives across the street said that it had been there since the 60's!
I wish I had taken a pic of the drive shaft they had made for it.
it was shortened and stick welded back together.
    hhmmm.
I guess maybe that means that they had an engine atleast some kind of mocked up?

Gando, You're welcome to stop by our shop on Wednesday nights about 6:30. We get together each week. We're located on Church Street beside Dominos in Concord.

The Crosley is not there though. Stop by anyway.
