Kelly Chadwick was one of my personal favorites and he used to let me ride back in his car with his earlier (non-flopper) cars. Class act![IMG]

My dad in the middle with Bob Daniels (At that time our Division III director and who went on to manage IRP with his wife, Eileen) and Dad's partner on the right. Dad sold his AWESOME five window Deuce to Bob as he was trying to round up the money to build the track....damn it![IMG]

And a picture of the guy who made it all happen....a slave driver but who would give you the shirt off of his back. I know for a fact that he helped a ton of guys who needed parts, gas and cash to get home from the track. We had nothing, but that did not stop dad from finding a way to help someone. This is the second floor of the tower. My dad used to stick my sister up there before runs to play 45lp records for the racers....we had THREE of them and one of them was "Louie, Louie." Ha![IMG]

Is that Gary Densham in the seat of the Ben Buchanan car? If so that answers the earlier question of is it the same car. I'd ahve to say yes.:D

  19. Eric,
For those of us who spent a lot of time at Muncie Dragway near Muncie, Indiana (which is still there and running), Thanks for the photos.

Ebert, that's a great old photo of Bob. I've copied it and I'm going to send it to Eileen.

I'll think you'll find this was Larry Lombardo's ride long after Bill gave up his seat.

    Big John,
You are more than welcome. I had a great talk with Eileen over Christmas....she is working her butt off as usual!!!

Given all of your unique pictures and posts on this thread and the vintage open-wheel thread, I surely have met you sometime! You are an icon!

    Best, Eric
