Im thinking about it. i dont really feel like paying 89 bucks to show off my car.(i dont care much for the concerts. it sucks man. a few years ago it was free. i think they should charge people to go into the show and look not to put your car in it. i mean we are the ones who make the car show!

  3. Ya know what I have wondered that for a long time, we spend our money and time to put our rides together and the guys putting on the shows charge us to put them in their show while joe Q public gets off scott free and mauls all over our cars. someone care to explain that!!

  5. You know, this comes up EVERY year around this time....

Viva Las Vegas is a MUSIC weekend, which has a car show on the Saturday...

NOT a car show with a few bands.

If you don't wanna 'pay $89.00' then don't, the Orleans has been sold out since a week after VLV 2008, there's gonna be no shortage of people there.

This is directly from the VLV website....you don't have to pay for the whole weekend. Read carefully.

    Car Show Pricing

    • 4 Day wristband and car show registration. $89
      • Includes admission to 4 days music in hotel, car show admission Saturday, access to car show area all 4 days.
    • 1 Day Car Show Registration $35
      • Admission to car show and car show registration SATURDAY ONLY. Does not admit you to music events in the hotel. Does not allow access to the car show area on Thursday or Friday.
      • This option is subject to availability and will go on sale after March 21st. If the car show is sold out with 4 day pass buyers then we will not be able to offer this option.
    • Car Show Pedestrian Admission $5
      • Anyone without a VLV wristband can visit the Car Show on Saturday only with this ticket. Pay at the gate. Advance tickets not available.
    Hope this helps.....

A32flathead - yes, that information WAS on the site, but now what are people that just believe what they hear or only read the first two lines going to WHINE about? If it was free, they'd bitch that they don't like being told where to park, or when they can leave or when they can arrive, or the wristband hides my tattoos....my take is that half of these folks that need something to complain about cannot be satisfied, regardless.

Not this shit again. You want to boycott then go ahead! Have you ever attended Billetproof, Ashpalt invitational, Paso Robles/Santa Maria, CHRR, Primer Nationals, or Back to the Beach? If so did you get in to those shows free of charge?

It costs money to put these shows on, and thats something a couple of you obviously know nothing about.

We have live DJ's that have returned to the car show.

We have live bands from all over the world performing at the car show.

    We have special guests .

We have historic cars and special displays that come from all over the nation.

We have a state of the art sound system throughout the grounds for all to enjoy.

And we have top notch Security and off duty LVP to make sure everyone and their property stays as safe as possible.

On top of all that there are the best bands and DJ's from all over the world performing inside the Hotel/Casino. Not in to 50's RocknRoll? stay home.

  8. I am not talking about just them I mean all shows.I know you don't have to pay for the whole weekend, and that it is more than just a show, it kick ass.

If you're gonna complain about petty "stuff",then DON'T show up.
For what VLV has to offer,it's a freakin' bargain!

  10. Yeh but you have to remember without our cars you have no show. I have no problem paying to see the cars but why should the guy that put all the money into his car have to pay to show it off so the promoter makes money?

Why should you pay for Popcorn when you're going to the movies?

Why should you pay for parking when you go to the beach?

Why should you pay for that Steak you just ate at the restaurant ?

Why should you pay for a ticket when you get to the entrance at Disneyland?

    Your kidding right?

"why should the guy that put all the money into his car have to pay to show it off "

If you want to "SHOW YOUR CAR OFF" then you can pay a guy like Alex to promote, secure, coordinate, and manage the event that allows you to SHOW YOUR CAR OFF.

If you don't want to SHOW YOUR CAR OFF.... park in the street 10 blocks away.

    Sheesh.

    Axel... you go girl!

  13. Axle your logic makes no sense, all the things you said are not the same. you go to the restarunt for food not show off what you just ate, same with the movies, parking ya gotta pay to play in the sand and surf unless you want to show off your six pack belly! the amusement park you are paying for the rides, not showing off your six pac belly again.

    Goozgaz,
What is a car show without cars?? we don't come you got no cars, and yes I know more and more people that are tired of spending their money to put ther cars in shows and are parking and looking at the cars in the parking lot!!

All I asked for was a simple answer not a bunch of smart ass shit! age old question thought one of the real guys could shed some light.

You gotta pay for the privilage of showing it. Of course you could always start your own show, your entry could be free and the crowds could pay. I'm sure it'd be huge and you'd make a killing.

I heard some guys talking like this at a show the other day and I found it a really interesting difference between some car guys. Personally, I pay the entrance fee so I can park in the show, which is more convenient than parking miles away, I can keep an eye on my car, it gives us all a place to sit and hang out inside the show and because I get a buzz out of other people enjoying my work.

Other guys feel that the world is privileged to be able to gaze upon their majesty and that the red carpet should be laid out JUST for them. Technically you are right that without YOU (well maybe not you personally, people don't normally pay to stare at whiners) turning up, there would be no show. But without the organisers there would be no venue in which to 'show'! There would be you, parked out the front of your house, hoping the mailman stops to look your ride over!

Average cost of a show here is about $10-20, which certainly aint no $35 BUT we don't have shows anywhere near the size and quality, and never have the awesome bands that you get in the States. All of that takes organizing, and it takes $money$.

  18. WOW!!!!!!! the one day saturday option is the first time I think this has ever happened. Hope this stays true after the march date. If that happens count me in since I cannot be there for the four days but the saturday would be no problem for me.

I've got your back Axle. We only live 100 miles from Vegas but would be happy to drive much further.

We really only go to VLV for the car show, which a few here seem to miss is a VERY small part of the VLV weekend! We've heard all the pissing and moaning over the years too, but never had anything to complain about. My A bone isn't too VLV friendly, but I'll drive it there and park in the garage, and WON'T BITCH ABOUT IT!!!

Seriously, if people don't know that VLV isn't about a car show they've missed the whole point. We don't go for the other stuff, but we understand that the car show is to VLV like salt is to a McDonald's Big Mac Super Size combo meal. And we like salt.

Actually, this year we're planning to stay there and take in a little more of the "environment", hit some shows and listen to lots of music.

See you there Axle. We're looking forward to another great car show... however small of a part of VLV it is... which is STILL the whole reason we go!

A girl with a big dick and balls, and works very hard to give a lot of you a place to hang out, pick up on broads, check out cool cars, and listen to real music, and sip on ice cold beers.

If you aint in to it guys, stay home. last year there were close to 1,000 cars in attendance and an estimated 25,000 people walking around just on Saturday.

Its pretty simple. It costs money to create an event of any size. I don't know how else to say it. Without getting too disrespectful , those of you that don't understand this concept have NEVER promoted/organized an event in your life.

See the rest of you there !

seriously?!?! if you dont want to pay it, dont go. why bitch and complain about it. you guys are worse than my 11 year old daughter. if you really think throwing a free show is the only way to do it then get off your ass and put one together yourself. hell i'll be the first one in line with my car. but we all know that a free 4 day show is going to cost lots of cash. there are too many expenses to cover if you just charge the public, unless you charge them double. in that case nobody is going to show up. think about it, its common sense.

i think 35 bucks is a good price to have your car in a secure parking lot! and 89 bucks for a 4 day pass to see all the bands is a killer deal!!!! BUT if all you want to do is attend the car show you have to hope it doesnt fill up on saturday. i wanna be there from thursday-sunday. i just wish i could pay 35 bucks and have my car in the show thursay-sunday.

875,000$ That's a lot of money for one day! i just get bummed when those little sacred things that you look forward to get ruined by greed and commercialism. i am no event organizer by any means but it doesn't makes sense to me that all of a sudden there is a super high cost in putting on the show it's been free and safe for years so i dont know where that 35$ is coming from? Maybe Tom Ingram needs to fatten up his wallet a LOT more. What a disappointment !!

  26. My girl and I are coming over from australia and staying for the weekend, we wont be able to show our car, but are happy to spend the money just to look and check out the bands. Even with our crappy $ conversion rate I think that it sounds like a good deal.
    Really looking forward to it.

  27. How much does it cost to rent the hotel/casino for the entire weekend? Security? INSURANCE? Bands? Dj's?

Jeez, if you don't like it, stay away.
