Found info on hotels at HWY 65 North and HWY 99 . Brand new one is Hampton INN & Suites, Bakersfield North-Airport and the older one is La Quinta Inn & Suites. I think these are the closest ones to Auto Club FAMOSO Raceway. March Meet 6th-8th. Web site:

Uh yeah, wheres Famosa located? Is that the sister of Famoso? Correct my espanol if I am wrong. I will be there to enjoy the Grove a bit along with some nice nitro intoxication.-Weeks

 

I will be there. Booked the flights from UK and all packed.
Need to get some parts to finish my Flathead slingshot so hoping the swap meet may provide.
Usually go to the re union in Oct. But cant make it this year due to work.
Put a thread up re the question " Is there a car meet at the Double tree inn on the Friday night as when the re union is on ? " its my first time out to the march meet.

I'll be there with the Flamed 55 Chevy in the Grove.

 

The local Friday Nite Cruise is at the Sonic Drive In ( Hwy 99 & Olive ) , but first part of March can be cold so maybe not many there.

 

My brother and I will be there. Flying out from Minnesota.

 

I'll be there in my '58 Ford, always an easy one from V town.

 

My son and I will be there Saturday. I'm flying in to LAX on Friday to visit him. He is working at the Sherwood Country Club in Thousand Oaks for a few months so we couldn't resist going up to Bakersfield for the March Meet. We are looking forward to our visit. We also plan on going to the NHRA, Peterson, Justice Brothers, and the Nethercutt museums as suggested by other Hambers. We will try to go to the Bob's Big Boy in Burbank on Friday night also. Any other places that we should put on our "to do" list? Thanks, Al

Got the Weekend Warrior spotted on Spectator side. RH side of road thru gate. 4 spots down.
Blue w/ White SS stripes on the Yamaha Ranger with Ice Chest on Back
will be running around between grove and Camp.
Camp fire going both nights.
Will have some cold (iii)] going!!
Daytime will be wondering The Grove , shoulod be hanging by my 55.
