Check out this great photo. Not sure which drag strip this photo was taken at but look at all the different Texas clubs that were represented. I even see a shirt with "Dragonettes" in front of the guy with the Dragons shirt on the right. (335)
I dont know that club but my grandpa still has his plaque and jacket from the fullerton PROWLERS it is from the mid 50's.
I just noticed that it has been 1 year on Monday since I started this thread. Thanks to everyone who posted. Here is a recap of the photos that have helped me get to 4,500 different plaques on our website....
The Western Maine Street Rods plaque from a club that I co founded some 15ish years ago. The Rod & Customs plaque was found hang'n on a wall in a barn. Owner was a club member, said it was from the mid 50s. One day while at work he walks it, hands me the plaque and saz its mine! Click on pic for better view Pontiac Slim
I don't have any plaques but here's a little story that makes me mad at my son everytime I think bout it...He was out in Cali a few years ago helping his best friend move his aunt. While he was out there helping her get things ready for a garage sale, he calls me up and asks me if I want some old lic plates that are black/yellow from the 60's? YES!! bring em home I told him. then he wants to know If I'd be interested in a 56 Ford 2 dr sedan that her husband had. It was a little customized he told me. I said no, but bring all the lic plates and anything else she had. Well he got home and I loved the plates, they in mint cond and look cool in my office. I asked if there was anything else of interest that she had...well he tells me that he was moving some boxes around and found a 'plaque' that had something on it that looked like letters spelling the word "LA Roadsters" and a car of some sort on it and did not think it was significant. Well then I got kinda depressed. The aunt said her hubby belonged to some deviant car club back in the 60's and that she was sending the plaque to the Goodwill. Damn!! Miikey
Here's another great pic from about 1957 at Kolher Dragway (first sanction Drag track in Canada) with all the club members lined up at the starting line showing off their colours. Our club "Brantford Piston Pushers" member right in the middle.

That orange Dallas Rebels plaque was made from my dad's original. My dad let a buddy make a copy of it for his collection and since then several copies have appeared (dishonest foundry). My dad and his buddies went to Thomas Jefferson High School and the mascot was the Rebels and thus where they got the car clubs name from. It was never orange. If you would like a scan of the original that is copied from in black for the site PM me and I will send it to you. I know it is a little thing but it irks me that it keeps turning up and is in the wrong color even. I also belonged to a club once myself and that plaque got copied and even though I am not in that club anymore it still rubs me seriously wrong. I know, "get a life." BTW, one of the oldest Dallas clubs in not on your page but then again they never had a normal club plaque but a metal tag for their cars...The Chaparral Roadster Club est. 1949 and featured in Hot Rod Magazine in Aug. 1951.
I scanned my copy of the original of the Dallas Rebels if you are interested in removing the fake rip off ugly orange one and want to put a real one up.
