While my '40 Ford pickup was parked at the Nashville swap meet last week, Rodster got in and farted all up in it - my eyes have been burning ever since! After three bottles of Febreeze failed to de-funkify it, I opted for some new threads. Actually the seat is the work of Ray Eller here in White House TN. (borntoolate here on the Hamb is his son) - Ray does some fantastic work and has had his stuff featured in Street Rodder and other mags. He was able to squeeze me in this week and I couldn't be happier with the results. Two inch tuck n roll in Allante vinyl that looks and feels very much like leather. Check it out:
I've destroyed a few seats myself. Damn Del Taco and thier $.99 half pound bean and cheese***** flame throwers.
what kind of seat is that my friend.is it flat down on the floor. and i promise not to come and try to steal it
It's a modified S10 seat, I can't remember exactly how much I narrowed the bottom down but I think it was about 8" since the '40 cab is narrower in the front. It's sitting on angled risers that are about 4" tall. Here's a pic of the seat frame where I recontoured it.
That's a really nice chair Gator ! ......should make for a comfortable ride to the Florida Billetproof Show. Whats the outside look like now?
Still the same, although I did finally get my new wheels in from Summitt. It may still be that way for Billetproof. I took a few days off the truck to help another PoorBoy get his ride up and running, and have a lot going on the next couple of weeks, so I'm not sure how much time I'll get for body work.
That looks great Gator! That should be nice on a road trip. Looking forward to seeing you and the truck. Mike
Gator, thanks for mentioning dad. He's one of those really good quiet craftsmen who should get a little notoriety every now and then.
