Thank YOU! Very nice! Now that you've 'gone and done it' ... we wanna see some MORE! ... is that DAYLIGHT under the left front wheel?
I think it's about .019 clearance but it was running good . I have some other engine shots etc which I will post too. This is really a cool thread and when I built it I had no idea there were other guys "out there" enough to be doing the same thing. That's what is so cool. thanks
Oh thats a cool car man, how did you get that little turn back on the Stahl headers? I need to modify our headers like that... -Dean
No problem if you didn't mind working. Heads came off every week to check spring pressure ( sure was a good thing one of my sponsers had a spring tester) and reset spring height and pressure. Couple that up with disassembling and checking two 3-speeds and pulling out the rear end and axles every week to check it. But it was great and I enjoyed every ( well almost ) minute.
What a wild wheelstand!! The Patrick Bros. team name was "PNP RACING" for Patrick, Nelson and Patrick. It was painted on the back of the car along with a broken stick of "TNT" dynamite. -Dean
Don, I'd like to welcome you to this forum for those great days. I can tell you were in the thick of it. Please share some more info here. What did you run? You hit it right on the head when you said, "No problem if you don't mind working". Those were/are the guys that this entire thread is all about. Verne
Anyone interested in owning the "Behemoth" wagon?http://ihra.racingjunk.com/category...mopar-super-stock-collection-up-for-sale.html
hey 57 delivery, where did you get your WCFBs here on the west coast if you can find them, they are way exspensive! also how about some specs on the car? like trans, rearend,suspension mods! thanx
Along about 1975 I was working for Harold Ramsey and one of the tech's had a '57 intake and WCFB's for sale. He said he would sell them to me for what he had in them, $65. Damn I wish I had bought them!
Sure enough. In the garage,not the car,is a 288 inch small block with the correct pistons etc and 520 heads. I also have one of the General Kinetics (I think #6 is on it) cams the real Hydrophobia used that I got from Dave from Bash's old shop,where according to that Car Craft article all of his machine work was done. In the car now (sorry guys) is a 355" small block with disguised 461X heads on it and of course the WCFBS that I have had since people threw them out.They have kidney floats etc like the old Hot Rod article described. Lunati custom ground a stocker cam for the 350 motor and also one for a 220 horse that would be a legit 57 Stocker cam .It has an A-1 Glide in it that Marv Ripes did with a special aluminum bell to use the original 57 side mounts and a 4500 converter from Marv.I really wanted to put a Hydro in it but you know they are tough to find complete and I have been told it'll be faster with the Glide so that's what it got.It has the stock rear with 4:88's and a posi unit ,wagon springs in the rear and 50/50's and had a Stahl traction bar setup that I could not figure exactly how to dial in so now it has slapper bars on it like the pic shows. The front has Moroso springs and ball joint spacers and 90/10 lakewood shocks. Yes,I did grind the serrations down and space the washers back so it would lift(see photo) which it does. Stewart Warner fuel pump,old Sun gauges,stock interior & buckets with NHRA legal shifter. It is a blast to drive even though it won't go in the 9's but it flashes back to when I was 12 years old watching these things run and wondering how it was done. I still wonder how the Stockers fly!! Thanks for asking......
WHOA you dont have a larger, good quality scan of that logo do you?? It's one of the IMPOSSIBLE stickers to find that I need for the In-Bomber. I have a tiny copy but if someone had a good large scan it would be even better for having some made up. -Thanks, Dean
i called stahls and asked if the still had any of those decals laying around, they said they had some that they would sell for $25.00 apiece (that was about ayear ago so im not sure if they are still available)
They are expensive here in Kansas too. Just saw a complete unrestored set ( manifold and carbs ) at a swap meet this weekend for $2100.

These are the specs to be "Legal" for NHRA. <link rel="File-List" href="file:///C:%5CDOCUME%7E1%5CTHOMAS%7E1.MCC%5CLOCALS%7E1%5CTemp%5Cmsohtml1%5C01%5Cclip_filelist.xml"><!--[if gte mso 9]><xml> <w:WordDocument> <w:View>Normal</w:View> <w:Zoom>0</w:Zoom> <w:Compatibility> <w:BreakWrappedTables/> <w:SnapToGridInCell/> <w:WrapTextWithPunct/> <w:UseAsianBreakRules/> </w:Compatibility> <w:BrowserLevel>MicrosoftInternetExplorer4</w:BrowserLevel> </w:WordDocument> </xml><![endif]--><style> <!-- /* Style Definitions */ p.MsoNormal, li.MsoNormal, div.MsoNormal {mso-style-parent:""; margin:0in; margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; text-autospace:none; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-font-family:"Times New Roman";} @page Section1 {size:8.5in 11.0in; margin:1.0in 1.25in 1.0in 1.25in; mso-header-margin:.5in; mso-footer-margin:.5in; mso-paper-source:0;} div.Section1 {page:Section1;} --> </style><!--[if gte mso 10]> <style> /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman";} </style> <![endif]--> Issued: 13 April 1962<o></o> Revised: 4-24-70 <o></o> <o></o><o></o> H.P. WK That is an NHRA Stock/Super Stock tech info sheet, with the engine specs, there's more, but he's showing the info concerning your ?, mainly the carb #s and specs.

Yes you are correct about Jim Fagan. He was a local and I raced with him on Sat. Night's at Maple Grove
