Thought I would throw an updated pic of mine since I finished the flatbed
    [IMG]

Used 46 Ford big truck front fenders that I modified to make into what you see.

The rounded corners on the new flatbed make it look like a factory bed from the fifties very nice.Stance on the truck is just right too.

Don't you want to send your "orphan" to a loving home in SC? I need this truck!

What are your plans for it?

I got it started up on monday, needs the carb cleaning out though. Not bad considering its been parked up since the mid sixties.I'll probably just run it as it is until I have a donor chassis and the time to swap the cab onto a late model chassis.Should be fun to drive around locally as it is for a while:D

For those of you that are using a 1975-1991 Chevy Crew Cab Dually donor frame, what are you doing to change to the more vertical steering column angle for the COE? Repositioning the stock steering box or replacing it altogether with something else? I'm curious what steering box and pitman arm the 1T Chevy Van of the same era use?

I am planning to use an chevy van steeringbox, and then a tiltsteering kolom but I have to shorten it and use some u-joinst or else I have a odd steeringwheel stance. I also used the original hydro brake booster setup ,I will have to fab a new brakepedal. As I still leave the 454 in the front I have a little clearance problems for the pedals.
    udate soon.

I have made on my 72 1/2t GMC Chassis A 86 Chevy Van steering box and****istance steering point. They ar mounted each 14mm outward of the chassis.
I have 3 U-joints and A brearing where the steering schaft gows through the floor. The tilt steering collum is shortend 5".
The steering is pervect and I have lots of lege room.

Looks like an International - see the tripple diamond logo above the grille? If it's what I think it is, I believe it has the driver's side door swinging normally while the passenger door is a suicide style - from the factory! Pretty cool.
