Wow, that's quite an informative shot! Read somewhere that the trim on the Hirohata had just been cut and butted together rather than welded, kinda cool to see it in detail. Does that screw act as a solenoid actuator?? What a beautiful car!

That's not a screw. It's actually a button for the door poppers. Jim told me that Barris used starter solinoids to open the doors.

 

Your car is so fuckin cool! The narrowed grill kicks ass...

I was thinink about goin with Buick trim on my shoebox and was stressing about getting it welded. Did some research to determine how best to weld the trim up (or have weld it up). Eventually read somewhere that the typical practice was to just splice it and that "even the Hirohata had spliced trim". So to see that particular shot of that car is just too cool!

If you look closely the front rims weren't reversed,so Sombreros weren't gonna fit those rims. I noticed that too. Plus it wasn't as low low as should have been.
