Figure me in, drove mine around the block twice now. Going to have to get some glass and a top on it. It's friggin cold out there...
Here's a couple pics of some progress I've made on my 26. Car is almost all down to bare steel at this point.. is going to need a grand total of about 10 square inches patched. the rest is quite solid. Chopped the floor out and set the frame on the little roll around cart and got the engine set in place. Its getting more fun to visualize how its all going to look now.. The engine is a 5.7 LS1 that'll be Carbed.. none of that fancy pants EFI crap on this one. I have a Powerglide for now that'll be setting in it.. MAY have a Muncie M21 but that's still up in the air. Now I just need to sell the blue 408" Dodge sitting behind it so I can fund the Front axle, Ladder bars Coil Overs etc... and get this beast rolling.
Aw jees .. this makes me want to cry. I'm building a 1915 T full fender coupe powered by a 57 Chrysler 354 hemi and a 471 blower with ( 4 ) 2-barrel carbs. The blower has the old ( 5 ) "V"-belt drive. I put it in storage at my sons place in southern Indiana in 2000 when we moved to northern Michigan. That was before I got a digital camara so I cant include a photo with this. I'm going to have my son take some photos and email them up so I can post them.
Three '27 coupes, 1 '27 sedan, 1284 mile round trip,1 week-end, with a visit to Speedy Bill's museum! Bought them just outside Omaha couple years ago, still haven't started working on the first one yet! Too many projects, not enough time! Count me in!
Here is my start of a bent up T Coupe . The doors wouldn't fit from the car either being rolled off a cliff backwards or a bad rear-ender that caved in the rear panel and trunk lid and tweaked the cowl/A-pillars. The frame is a 2x4x3/16" wall tubing with a 3"x 1/4" wall front crossmember and a 12" zee in the rear. I can't decide yet if I want to chop it or not . The Grill shell is a '27 Chevy and the headlights are '31 Chevy Twilites that will be retrofitted with Halogens and LED signals inside. The Coupe will be motivated by a cammed 350 backed by a 700R4 for driveability . Rick
im building one here in dear old england, what sort of wheelbase are on some of these coupes,in know their all different depending on the build style, but any info would be helpfull as mine will be long and low.cheers chaps.
Here's my '23. I'm not a huge fan of "T's" and this one kinda fell into my hands. Its fun as hell to drive in a scared shitless sort of way.
Are near stockers allowed? Bought it in '69, has a Waukesha Ricardo head and a dropped front axle, knobbys on the rear. I have a Ruckstell for it but it's not in yet, don't wanna rush things, y'know.
I'm not real sure yet, I just want to get this thing together and run it, and let it inspire me with some idea's. If anything for now I may go the standard primer black or red. The engine will have the lakester headers. This is my first build so will see.
cool wen i get mine im thinkin white frame+firewall and then i havent chosen a color for the body yet seeing as hot rod man took the blue i had in mind and i want it to be different
Hey guys thanks for all the pics. Mine is in pieces waiting to be put back together. You all gave me some ideas. I want to have a removable fabric covered top, 28/29 drilled visor. Not sure of the powertrain yet as I am still searching. I have to finish the 27 modified first. I hope to get it done this spring.
