This is what my daydreaming was like back in Catholic school, just before the Nun whacked me
with a ruler and sprinkled holy water on me to expel Satan.

[IMG] This is a British Magazine that covered a lot of American drag racing. It is just a guess but I would say that it is Ray Alley's Engine Masters ( Big Al ) without the body.

    Dean,
if everything goes OK Mousie will have a cacklefest version of the "Wing" at the Bakersfield CHRR this year. We fixed the frame that got damaged when the king pin boss fell off the end of the axle a couple of years back and then cut off the cage. It is now in the roll bar and braces configuration as seen in the photo and Mousie had John Force's guys haul it out west from Indy when they went to the Phoenix test session. Jake McCloud and co are helping Mousie to get it together with the old iron 392 that was in front of Mike Boyd before they put the Donovan in the "race" version. With a bit of luck I may even be there to cackle it myself.

This car represented the newly embraced Southern California approach to what a blown gas coupe should be. It was anything but. Basically a rectangular style funny car chassis that allowed for the engine to be moved fore and aft (10 % or 25% engine set back based on what they wanted). Lombardo grew tired of the protests by those racing a more traditional, albeit equally illegal, blown gas coupe owner and begain running the car on alcohol in the weekly 8 car open shows. Manuel Herrera of Herrera and Sons fame drove it off and on along with Lombardo

Hey Red Fox. I see you have a lot of pics of vets. Do you have a pic of a old comp eliminator car driven by Lindly Iselhood, not sure of the spelling. He ran out of Clear Lake speed center in TX.
When I was wrenching I'd try to watch comp eliminator and that was a stand out car. JC
