She'll have one a half to two inches on top, two to two an half in the front. This is more than I have on my Boss Hydro project and they (M&H Racemasters) don't rub at 160 mph on them. Thanks for the kudos...

    Hi Vic..!

Always good to hear from you... Thanks for the kind words, the only reason "I" get anything done is because of the people around me..! I'm blessed to have have a ton of good friends and family that enjoy this hobby of ours as much as I do. All my projects are joint efforts, I'm just the lucky one who gets to drive them when there done!

  8. Always dug the comp coupes! That thing is awesome, does he have more bodies for sale? My altered frame needs some clothes.........

  9. VERY cool project. I am also glad to see a 92 back between the frame rails. Keep the pics coming of your progress. Is this going to be a cackle car, correct? Not a runner? or?

    Hi Steve,

One of the "dilemmas" that I had was deciding what I wanted to do with updating the ch***is. Since the ch***is was built in 1967, the tubing and design will not p*** NHRA tech without m***ive re-work (it would come down to back halving the car) I decided to keep the Don Long ch***is as original as possible and forgo the NHRA sticker. I plan on displaying the car more than anything mainly because we all ready race multiple cars. HOWEVER, it is a race car, and to me, it has to at least make a couple of p***es. We all ready talked to one track who has agreed to let us make some "easy" p***es, so YES, she'll do what she was born to do....

It will be nice running, nothing like a fuel '92. Mine is a gas motor 1:1 with a Chris Neilson solid lifter cam decent enough for a street car.

    Hi Riceman,

It might be getting close to 180 inches, I'll have to check when I get to the shop.

Actually, there is a pretty good chance, as the last two cars I sold (the Nitro Charger funny car and the Flashback 33 Willys both went to so Cal) I would like to make it out to the next CHRR, but it would more than likely be with my Boss Hydro and K.S. Pittman tribute/recreations.

Not at all...from one FED fanatic to another, I hate ya in all the best ways! Seriously that car is stunning. I can hear it in my brain just lookin at the pics. Maybe some day we can "hate" each other. I gave up drag racing until life allows me to build one. An early funnycar would be a close 2nd, maybe even a tie...

Always loved the comp coupes..the first day I took a camera to LIONS in 1962 when I was 11, I took these...
with or without the car, I look forward to meeting you at the CHRR in Oct.

Why can't I find an ex-T/F car in a barn? The only thing I ever find is horse/cow poop. But you are doing an outstanding job on the build, the body looks much better since you widened it a touch. BTW, what's the flopper under the cover?

  27. For "easy p***es" can you say Jalopy Showdown Drags ? (with Bob Bilbow in the other lane:)
