Paying attention? Meet Play'n Jayne. This is my Honey's new baby, a 1962 Ford Falcon. I believe one or two locals may know her already, so chime in if you recognize her.
This was our weekend purchase, Amanda's dream and my Honey Do list. Having an older, home spun restoration of sorts, she looks pretty sweet. Rust is limited to the usual spots in the floor and there seems to be very little hidden surprise in the body. Originally having the 144 c.i. six, she now has a 170 c.i. mill of undetermined year model. The carb and engine paint colors suggest it's from after 1965. There's 3 on the tree, no A/C, a radio delete plate and massive 13" steelies.
On the drive home I was pulling both pedals up off the floor with my toes in a pitch black cabin, so aside from instrument lights, I was really stressed over the brakes and clutch, in that order. At least the engine was purring, make that growling, like a kitten. The exhaust sounded like a tractor with the stack rotted off under the hood. It was actually just a blown collector gasket.
We spent all day Saturday assessing her condition and getting started. Sunday was a miraculous day when we rebuilt the pedal mounts entirely from Tractor Supply parts. A new master cylinder cured the brakes and a few new parts resolved the rest of the clutch issues. Now she's soft spoken, easy to motivate and stops when you say, even if she is a bit of a handful. We have a long list remaining, but the worst is behind us. I really enjoyed sharing my garage with my wife this weekend, but I need a break! Two women are more than I can handle! My wife say's I've had enough for a few days, so she took the keys. Stay tuned and we'll see what Honey has in mind for Play'n Jayne.

Hmmm.. If Only You knew a mustang guy whoran 10;5 classes with a spare 302 lying around. mabey a c4 and a 9 incher. it would look cool doing wheelstands.

You wanna call Mike, or should I? I hear he has a spare Turbo laying around these days.

or de-tune one and just run 9's and still be able to drive it to church on sundays.:D

Ha, I already tried the straight axle line on her and got shot down. This one is hers. My input will be limited to technical advice and bloodied knuckles.

....But I get back the Chevy II! :)

Early 62 with the round rear window i like them better than the flat rear window

did you put the single master back on or upgrade it to a dual master

Only thing you need to do is make the hood scoop functional. Other than that it's perfect.
Remind me to tell you about the Maverick parts car I have when I see you Thursday night.

man I remember my wife had one, it was my worst night mare, I swear everything that could go wrong on the damn thing did, finally I put my foot down and told her I wasn't working on it any longer, she agreed and to craigslist it went, I wish hers was half the condition yours is though, we'd probably still have it.
