http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1953...ptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories It will be a while before I can get into it, but it is here and I'm still shocked!
There go the cheap Olds motors, now you'll have everyone on there bidding in $.50 increments...seriously, pretty cool score!
I showed the picture to my husband and said "guess how much the guy paid for this?" and he said "since it's eBay...$800?" He said he'll give you twice what you paid for it haha.
Nice. There are plenty of deals to be had on eBay if you know how to search. I bought a '55 Belair a couple months ago for $104.50, Cliffy bought an A-100 van from the 60's for like $11.
Wow! Nice score on the Belair and the van. I guess since the "scrap wars" came to an end people are putting stuff back on ebay. Even though scrap prices are down these are still less than scrap bargains.
Seller didn't offer shipping, pick up only. I guess that helped me out. It was an hour and a half away. I just can't fiqure out why the first bidder only put in a .99 cent bid
A couple of months ago I picked up two Mopar flathead 6 engines complete from a guy in CT for $11 of ebay. Ever since then when people sell a flathead 6 for more then $50 I think its too exspensive
Hahaha...that's exactly what I first thought. What the hell was wrong with that first bidder? "I just can't afford to pay more than 99 cents..." Good Lord.
All the seller said was he wanted it out for more room. I gave him a ten and he was reaching for change. I told him to keep it. He said he got it from a guy that wrecked the original car, pulled the motor and it has been inside ever since.
Smokin Deal man! And I thought I had the best deal around! A few months ago I was trolling Craigslist and I see this add for an Industrial Hemi - $850. I go look at it and say to him - I'll give ya $500. He says to me - give me $300 because thats what the last guy offered, but he never came back! I almost wet my pants! Took that thing home with me and lived happily ever after! (Its still sittin in my garage) but it makes me smile whenever I look at it!
with a title and description like that, im surpised anyone saw it. i find super cheap deals like this every now and then on ebay.....but with a day left in the auction, the seller will cancel the auction. there should be something illegal about doing that. good find.
I've won a couple engines on Ebay for cheap, just because no one wants to go through the trouble and expense of shipping them. One was a '51 Olds 303 for $104.50, complete with a standard shift flywheel and a pair of Hurst mounts.
55 Buick Special nailhead V8, $1.04. I'll sell you this engine for eBay price but it has to be picked up by Tuesday. Oh, by the way, the engine is still in the car, under 2 feet of snow in Northern Minnesota. Monday would be a good day to come and get it - the daytime high is supposed to get all the way up to 5 above.
