    They suck.

    They sucked back then.

    They suck today.

There was, and always has been, a better looking wheel available.

    To summarize: they suck.

Something with a 60 or 70 aspect ratio, especially ones that look like they're belted bias (Firestone Wide Ovals, Goodyear Polyglas GTs), or anything in those aspect ratios with a red stripe and a non asymmetrical tread pattern if you're like me (hate raised letters and love the red strips). Just remember, these wheels came out too late to be HAMB friendly, Astros and Cragar S/Ss are almost too new also having been released in late 1963 or early 1964, so it's just a matter of time before the HAMB police chime in here.

yes, they are still cool on the right cars......especially when given the choice between them and the ridiculous oversized garbage they sell nowadays. Use to be cars had tires with sidewalls.........now all you see is chrome the size of a garbage can lid with a strip of rubber around it.

Red stripes are cool too. Well i dont want to p off anyone.. thats for sure... The 60s ford trucks seem to be a really popular truck here.. and alot of the guys just opt to put on the steel wheels or torque thrust... and they look good .. Ive always had half my brain thinking in the box and the other half out of it.. I'll be that guy that always has 2 sets of wheels to cruise on and change them out depending on what mood im in or where im headed. one of those will always be a set of steel wheels.. hands down they are a good look.. just like a little something different every now and then. whatever that may be.

    A couple more thoughts;
All the Keystone wheels came with the rough cast sections painted black, so to me they look funny (unfinished) any other way.
You rarely if ever (at least in my area) saw Keystones on 70s cars, but you did see them on everything from 55 Chevys and 57 Pontiacs to just about anything made in the 60s that we thought were "cool" and could afford in the 70s. Pretty much the same cars you'd find Cragar S/Ss and 200S Torque Thrusts on.

Yep, they are pretty cool (on the right car) and so are their valve covers......................I'd love a SBC set.

Ah, Keystones! Don't know why, but I've always considered them to be a Mopar specific wheel. Maybe it's just the Sox & Martin connection, but you just seemed to see many of them on Chrysler products from the Musclecar era up until the Eighties when the restoration boom started and everyone then just threw them away or gave them to their cousins' to end up on vans.

I don't think they look that bad. I used to not care for them at all. And then I just happened into a set with some other parts I had purchased. Next thing you know it they found their way onto my car.

I'll let you guys be the judge:

  24. I ran a set on a 61 chevy for a while but that was 1965.

I'd love to find a set for my Cougar. They look good on the more "stylish" cars. But otherwise I was never a fan. Still like the dish mags, though.

  26. Sure...they're great! On a 77 Dodge van,LOL!!!!!!
There isn't a HAMB friendly car that would look better with those wheels on it!!!!

    knew that was coming, lol.

    58custom, nice Cougar BTW.

FWIW, I have nothing against these wheels, but I just don't think they would look good under a '65 F100. But it's your truck, so it's your choice.

Those double white stripe tires remind me of an old man with a more door pukey gold or green 68 or 9 Ford Galaxie who thought his car was "cool" because he bought a set of "mags" for it.

  30. I remember in the 70's,when Car Craft and Hotrod magazines had FULL PAGE ads with Keystone wheels! Back when there was NOTHING else in the magazine worth buying it for! 70's were Hotrod and Custom LIMBO!!!!!
