it's a stupid term but it means how guys used to act before women wanted them to start acting like them. this one is my favorite lol A Retrosexual knows how to use a basic set of tools. I have a friend who is in his 90's and he loves that list, he was a world war 2 vet, still working too. it's a term that someone came up with who was sick of all the guys acting like dam women, it's the same set of rules John Wayne would have lived by. it's the total opposite of fag. anyway great setups here, I have my outside one which is almost a hundred years old, and i have the entire room inside,and my wife knows not to mess with it. Actually she likes to help on stuff instead of complaining about it. she doesn't like the outside one though, we have giant wolf spiders, she's learning to appreciate them though. they kill al the black widows.

all right, back on topic,I wa commenting on why the term man cave isn't gay and why we have man caves. A Retrosexual will have hobbies and habits his wife and mother do not understand, but that are essential to his manliness, in that they offset the acceptable manliness decline he suffers when married/engaged in a serious healthy relationship - i.e., hunting, boxing, shot putting, shooting, cigars, car maintenance.
that is why now back on topic. and lets see some more "old ladies"

November 1st of 08 it was bare studs,thanks to a couple good friends we wired,insulated,rocked etc the shop and had it done including 10 gallons of off white, by thanksgiving it was ready,it also has surround sound and direct TV so I can watch Vida and NHRA,the stuff on the wall I had been saving for this project for years.......hell I dont even want to go in the house much anymore.note the TV shelf made outa a 1935 ford tailgate...thanks ODD

what makes a cool shelf too is old airplane flaps, just put a couple of those wall brackets on the flat side and screw them to the studs in the wall. I have several in the house. strong as hell to.

over 100 of 'em from the 40's-mid-60's when the artwork was at its best. All are empty, but many I built as a kid. Many of the boxes still have the decals and the instructions in them.

I've always thought "Man Cave" was childish, if not gay. I don't understand the need for a clubhouse where girls aren't allowed. A "Man Cave" also seems like a guy going out of his way to look cool and prove to other guys he's really not gay.

It's my workspace, with my cool junk laying about and a couple old hot rod calendars with girls in bikinis on them. If chicks are cool enough to come in and hang out, then so be it. I'm not trying to impress the neighbors so they think I'm a gearhead. They just want to chit chat and interrupt my work anyway.

 

what ever you call it, it's a place to have your stuff the way you want it and screw everyone else, my wife can't understand all the junk but she pretty much leaves it alone. we are cleaning up in here now because i can't walk across the floor anymore. but she respects my stuff and won't throw anything away unless she asks me first. I will put up some pictures later have some cool stuff in here.

 

some of you guys are making me jealous with all the space you have for your Man Cave's. Here's a few shots of my little 2 car garage. It's kind of tight with 3 cars and a Jr. Dragster. The race car is spending the winter in the trailer.

Sign my son made for the door from the house to the garage last spring. The kids and dogs are allowed but off limits to Mommy.

 

You know, it's not really the size that matter, at least not in this instance, but what's in it. Some of you guys have some pretty cool stuff in a small space. I have a pretty good size shop but most of it has to be reserved for my business. I wish I had more time and money to have more truck related equipment.
