Is this it? We thought it was called the Roach Coach. I repaired the paint on It for Bob Larivee many years ago. We were loading it up for the next show.

The "Roach Coach" build was contracted by Stan Peterson who owned the Roach T-shirt company in the 70's. Not sure who built it, but it may have been Dan Woods. Ed Newton had gone to Roach to be the creative director there after Roth Studios folded in the late 60's. Ed designed the Coach during his time there. It was quite a piece...too bad it wasn' seen more, but it came at the very end of the showrod era and no one cared about showrods any longer.

This car was originally built in Nor Cal as the Paddy Wagon. It seems to me that it may have been built by Art or Mickey Himsl.

At any rate, the builder sold it to Ray Farhner and I think he changed it into this version which was like a medicine show wagon, and then he later changed it into the Flower Truck as a part of his Boothill Express funeral procession (Boothill, Wake Wagon, Flower Truck and Escort 3 wheeler, the Escort Trike).

Ray Farhner / Doug Thompson X-Ray from the cover of Rod & Custom, November 1963. Any other photos of the car out there?
