I too enjoyed the commercial. Since I ride, I did notice the Gym shoes. Not my choice of riding gear. BTW were those helmet DOT approval? Old school style helmets were a nice touch for the older look they were trying to get across.

I'm with ya there J Ripper. For example CTFuzz, there's the XRCR (his first solo design project), then there's the berret(???).

I don't know the bike or the comercial, but it'd be just like HD to exploit present traditional Hot Rod popularity as well as "Outlaw" styled cycles. Both of which they (HD) couldn't distance themselves enough from 60 to 10 or so years ago.
The sneakers say; "I'm not a Hoodlum but I've got a cool bike, if you've got the cash so could you!".

    I agree.

I'd never buy one of their new bikes.

I think the economy has got to be pounding Harley right in the wallet. It's an expensive luxury item, and let's face it, now that the chopper/bobber fad has calmed down a bit they may be in for a rough few years.

In 57 when they converted from the K model flat head to the overhead valve Sportster, the bore and stroke were 3" x 3.8125" which works out to 53.8979 cubic inch. They rounded that to 55" to sound better. They then called it a 900cc to out do the Triumphs of the day. In reality it was ............. wait for it ....... 883cc
They stayed with that until 1972 when the 1000 or 61" was introduced which was actually 61.32" or 1004cc
