How about an Alan Kulwicki composite, the three victory lane were from an ASA race at Georgia International Speedway and the on track shot is from Nashville if I remember right.

Alan had spun the car two days prior to this in practice and put it on it's top. His crew removed the top, beat it out and put it back on and Alan won the race.



The fellow on the right with the red Prototype shirt is the late Rob Joyce Gen Mgr at GA INT. and the anouncer is??. OK, Indybigjohn>

 

Here's a few ASA from Atlanta Raceway, sorry for the water marks, I had about six albums to get wet in my basement. I am going to try to get these negatives reprinted soon. I probably have the whole starting grid like these. I have also several other races that I will have to reprint. I have a lot of Nashville stuff with mixed ASA - Allpro cars that weren't hurt.

 

The announcer for ASA at the time was Garry Poindexter - "The Voice of ASA." Nice seeing a photo of Rob Joyce, who was an ASA official for a time.

 

Yep, Rob and I made many miles together promoting Georgia International. Even though younger than I, he taught me a lot about the real racing picture. We had a lot of good times and met a lot of good people.

Got a lot going on today but I will try to scan a few loose shots later. Here is a few cars from Dixie Speedway in hobby and cadet.

 

Here's a couple I took this weekend at Fontana, hard to steer and take pictures with the iPhone at the same time...

 

That your Bud Moore car? It's sharp as are those behind it. The #41 reminds me of the car Holman-Moody had in their yard sale back some years ago.

After I wrote the above I remembered I had the HM catalog in my office.

 

The #41 is THE Unser car, only ran at Riverside and I believe it was the last HM Stockcar. The BM/Isaac car is mine...it's a blast to drive, as long as you plan ahead to stop...everyone else has the same original drum brake set-up to keep things exciting.

I raced a 72 Torino dirt track car back in the 80's

 

If you have any particular ones let me know and I will try to round them up if I have them.

 

Mine is the Sta-Power/Isaac car, my buddy has owned the HM/Unser car that is in the catalog for several years, pretty sure he paid more that the 39K...I'll let him know he has a firm offer, I'll expect a small commission if he accepts

At one time I was young and crazy. This photo proves it. Pappy Griffis insisted I accompany him this way for at least one lap at the old Fairgrounds back in the 60s. Glad the car had a radio antenna and a hood ornament...

I took these when Lorenzen was Grand Marshal at AIR several years ago. I had one of my photographer buddies take my photo with "Fastback Freddy" in the media center, I'll dig it up and post it when I find it.

 

Lawman, Roy was another good friend, and another one of those who left us too soon.
