Well eight days and roughly five nights and all I got was this....Bad Ass Car!! kind of.

The front and rear axle are welded solid to the frame so I can begin to build my spring mounts. But I'm gonna start first doing the body framing and try to tie the body together.

    It's low.

Sweetness. Love the quickchange & excelsiors. Are those exhaust bells in the frame???? What's the nose off of? Reminds me of those old auto-union formula cars with the bulges down low.

    Nice unicorns btw

The rails are some beat up old stock car rails that were cut up and rusty (32 Ford), I whacked off from the cowl forward and made new front rails. The exhaust will be exiting the side blister's..Thanks

The holes are just our belled hole which I capped the back of, it'll make painting a lot easier as I will be handling that myself.

What an odd trunk/turtledeck...definately a unique car, and I dig the exhaust thru frame design as well...

I forgot to draw the wings! Unicorns have wings right? Thanks

When I aquired the body and started thinking about this car about nine years ago, the initial idea was to run a '38 truck grill and the '38 truck grill craze came so I put that aside and grabbed this grill shell off the wall...I was smitten at first sight

The nose was built in 1952 by Doc Gage in Flint Michigan, it was on his heavily chopped and channeled five window. The car attended the first Detroit Autorama and was a frequint street and strip racer.

I just found some pictures of the Doc Gage coupe, I'll post them as soon as I can.

Very cool! I love the frame. Is that where final ride height will be? Back end seems like it could come up a hair. The frame looks really really low right at the cowl. I really dig it.

You need to keep in mind the rear body is narrowed eight inches and shortened 5-1/2" at the deck area..

    5.50frt/7.50rear...bubba

Probably, I like it, and I like the rake right where it is, although some 18's would be better, for the back...I would keep the rake right there even still.

    Thanks

Very cool car. The grille makes it, as well as the unusual body style.

Now I'm convinced your really going to do this car. When you mentioned it a few years ago and showed us some of the bits and pieces then it went dormant I wondered if it was just going to sit. I know how shop owners/workers projects get put on the back burner so it didn't surprise me to see the progress stop. Anyway, good to see the progress and keep us up to date. This is NOT going to be a cookie cutter '32 Ford:eek:, and that's a good thing:). Actually, there isn't anything "cookie cutter" coming out of your shop, and that's another good thing.

This just gets better time you post something more about it. Sometimes you just have to plan and think on it until you are ready to do it right.
