    Hi ernest,
My husband and i sent Jr. a card today with a bunch of pictures in it. We hope he has a speedy and complete recovery. Very glad to hear that gene will be at the event. We haven't seen him for a couple of years. It's great getting together with everyone after a VERY LONG winter.

  3. There will also be at least twenty (probably closer to thirty) 409's running that weekend. Kind of a mini 348-409 reunion.

Thanks. I just remember it being a bit chilly last year.

I would truly love to go to this event. The last time I was at Thompson was in 1962. Went with a buddy who ran a beautiful 55 Chevy Sedan in E/G. Also remember meeting Big Daddy there and chatting with him. He was towing his car with a Dodge Station wagon and open trailer, doin his own wrenching too. Really good memories.

I'm spoiled as I'm no longer use to the weather off Lake Erie. LOL

  11. There is some strong talk of the 409 guys attending, I think it is on, there should be a neat mix of nostalgia this year. I feel there is a lot of cars being built of that era, mine inclusive, that cannot be there, maybe next year. We are not sure what we are bringing other than ourselves. It's time to book the hotel.

People have been known to camp in the pits with their racecar. Not everyone has a motorhome.

Rain or shine it's a great time...if the weather goes sour; look for a huge gathering of gassers at the Austinburg hotels..theye're just 15 minutes from the track and seem to be the hub of overnight activity. We used to live a mile from the exit.
