Im having some push rod issues and i wanted to pick up a good strong set. I was looking at the Sealed Power brand push rods. They look good. they are over size, solid push rods. I called the company and they said they dont know what material its made out of and thats all the info they have?? Websites like Summit Racing says that some are made of chromoly and some are steal??? but the tech line for Sealed Power says none of them are made of chromoly?? Anybody have any experience with this brand?? Thanks.
Yup I think you talked to "the new guy". I have used them from time to time . excellant quality and value. Don
There are many different flavors of STEEL, including Chromoly STEEL. I used them in a stroker motor and they never broke or bent. I guess that means they are good.
sealed power is the same thing as trw which is an oem supplier so yes it's high quality stuff. if you're having issues you might want to double check your push rod length and valvetrain geometry. stronger/better push rods will not fix a problem in your valvetrain.
no, I got some sticky valve stems due to, im guessing old gas, from my old 62 Cadillac 390 that hasnt been ran in a long time (20 years). I bent my stock push rods. I was just going to try to put some strong pushrods in and try rebreaking in the motor and give that a shot. If it dont work.... then its time for a whole rebuild anyways. Just saw that the Sealed Power brand was at a good price and "looked" pretty strong. Just try my luck on that. its like 3 bucks each.
