It's not about respect, I give the guys and gals respect. I don't understand why pointing out that there are already threads on this seems to be taken as a sign of disrespect. My mom outranked most of you guys anyway, yeah that's right my mom. :D

Pardon,,to pint out something does'nt mean "complain",,and folks adding there name to an even big list just shares more they have in common..

You are actually the one making a big deal of it in your response to him.. Could have just said "hey thanks for pointing that out"

Many of these folks have been here a long time ,,so just bring something to your attention is neither disrespectful or rude.

My Father was in Hiroshima right afterwards ( like days ) ,,and 2 older brothers were in Nam.

It has nothing to do with respect. We all appreciate, and recognize, all of you who have served and those who aren't with us to post today. But this is a hot rod site and Zman was merely pointing out we'd already covered this topic, more than once. Did you do a search first before posting?

And speaking of respect, maybe you need another 9,362 posts before you criticize zman about hotrods?

Yeah, helping to look after my mom the disabled vet is really disrespectful. So yeah I didn't go in, my brother was already in. I chose to help mom out. Sorry guys I'm a piece of shit for taking care of a DV. I've always made sure I was within distance to do stuff for my mom when she needed. She served and got the raw end of the deal with some chemicals we "didn't have". My bad.

I'm not trying to start a shit storm. I thank the guys that understande where I was coming from. My thinking on threads like these as well as every thread asking for pics of this car or that is that if it's been covered before it's real nice to see it all in one place. Makes it easy to find and keeps the info all in one place.

I was in the Army in the early 70's and I was under the illusion that we served to give every American the freedom to speak their mind,,,some may agree, some may not.

zman is a stand up guy,,,and he ain't disrespecting anyone. HRP

To correct you I havent criticized zman about hotrods.....I critized zman b/c he came to here and complained this has been done before.I dont try to go to his posts and complain this has been done blah blah blah.

I did do a search and saw the last one was in nov....I searched for veterans.I decided to post one now,b/c like me there might be others that hadnt been part of the site yet.Is it that much of a crime to post something more than once?

Then why not bump the one up from November? Add yours to that one. Easiest way to keep it all in one place.

It took a few minutes to reply because after reading the later pissing contest I was turned off. But this is the first time I have seen a post about Vets.

1st Air Cav. D, 2nd. 8th. Viet Nam 2/69- 3/70. Lost my arm at LZ Becky in August 69. One great wife, two great kids, 12 award winning hot rods built and I'm still a HOT RODDER. God Bless America.

No disrespect to you taking care of your mom.
There are plenty of other double, triple, etc. posts on less important things.Does it really hurt to have another veterans post? No.Does it really need to be pointed out that its been done before? No not really.
I did this b/c I wanted to see what Veterans are here right now.
Sorry if this has been done before.
Now Im done with all this back and forth crap.Lets get back to Vet rodders.

Zman...for anyone who has helped a Vet,whatever the situation may be,then I thank you.

Dude I was not trying to disrespect anyone. I sincerely mean that. Yes there are lots of double and triple posts on lots of stuff. And it doesn't hurt anything but the bandwidth bill. ;) But honestly keeping as much of this together in one spot makes it super easy to find all the guys and gals that served. I'd love to see some creative thread merging for some of this stuff.

As for mom, like anyone's interested, she was in the first class of basic training after they got rid of the Women's Army Corp. Taught chemical munitions schools and other assorted stuff for EOD. She taught our Special Ops groups as well as those of our allies at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville AL. Played with stuff that we weren't supposed to have both here and abroad. She's a piece of work for sure. She actually talked me out of joining at one point to go to college. If you asked her if I took care of her I'm sure she'd spin it around on me. But growing up hearing the other kids bust my balls for my mom wearing combat boots was kind of different. But she's had cancer twice and still smokes all day long.

My bad for taking it as disrespect then.

I would like to see this stay around for awhile and not get lost, like the other posts have.I find it very interesting to see/hear about all the older vets.
And its good to see some that have been part of OIF and OEF as well.

And it is interesting to hear about your mom.
And about the kids giving you s&*^ b/c of your mom back in the day....I guess somethings dont change.I get irritated over the ignorance of some of today's youth that talk s*&^ about the soldiers who serve.

  19. Served forever as did my wife. I, the wife, and oldest daughter are all retired. Went to the Pentagon yesterday to attend my youngest daughter's promotion to Master Sergeant. I'm pretty proud of all of the above.

Thank you to all of you who have served to protect our freedom. Also, THANK YOU to your families for their sacrifice with you having to be away.

I served USAF June 1971 through June 1975. Avionics Sensors Systems Specialist. I worked on Infrared Sensors, Side-looking Radar, laser target designators and low-light level TV. Aircraft included RF-4C's, F-4C & E, AC-130A & E Gunships. Served with the 67th TRW at Bergstrom AFB, TX (Austin, TX) and 8th TFW at Ubon RTAFB, Thailand. It was with the 8th TFW where I worked on the AC-130 gunships of the 16th Special Operations Squadron.

I'm a third generation veteran. My Dad served in the U. S. Navy in World War II and his father, my gradfather, served with his brother in the U. S. Army in 1900-1902 in the Philippine Insurrection, Third Infantry Regiment.

I've posted in other threads on the HAMB about veterans. It doesn't matter if we have another.

To all of our veteran mates in Oz, New Zealand, Great Britain and every other country, please join in on this thread. We appreciate your service with us against the terrorists now and all of the other times we needed each other's assistance.
