  4. Jethro.......Way cool. Not sure you need the back half of the body, just a bomber seat or two and Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  5. Tuck and I had a grudge race at the HAMB drags a few years back...his OHV 196 blew away my 196 Rambler flathead...even with my hidden NOS bottle

  6. The "baddest" 6 popper I had was a fresh 292 chevy in my shortbox 68 chevy. I bolted up an HEI distributor, Clifford 6 into 2 headers with a clifford 4 barrel intake mounting s small CFM Q-jet. I backed it up with 3.73 gear and a 55 chevy 3 speed overdrive tranny. Got about 17 MPG and it ran STRONG!

    Rocky,

Sweet little truck. I take it that you no longer own that vehicle?
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Jethro,

The Louvre called...they'd like their manifolds back. ;)

Seriously, nice work. I bet the finished vehicle will be a real head turner.
Am I mistaken, or are you going for some Hilborn action on that intake?

    Hey, welcome to the board!
I hope you enjoy your stay.

So tell me, did you make the intake to mount those SU's?
If not, who made that one?
    Interesting setup.

One of the guys in my car club has a '62 Falcon. He dropped a T-Bird Turbo Coupe 4 banger in there, turbo and all. With his stock 7.5" rear end, he ran a 15.92 at Little River at the Day of the Drags.

I was planning on running a beefed up 292 in my 27 T, but sold the project before I ever got there.

Are you referring to the turbo version of the 2.3L "Pinto engine"?
I remember reading about a guy who had one of those in a Fox-bodied Mustang, with a T-5 and 4.11 gears.
He claimed 26mpg and mid-13's in the quarter!
That was definately one underestimated power plant.

    OliverBrosGarage,

Thanks for the drivetrain details on your rod.
That's a hot lookin' machine, for sure.

    Scan60,

    Sounds like a nice ride.
I take it that's the truck pictured as your avatar?
    What's that colour called?

    My Dad had a '60 Apache 10. Short & narrow, 261, 3-spd w/OD.
That was a cool ol' truck, too.

Not a HotRod but still run'n the 235 in my 54 Chevy. Nothing sounds cooler than a straight six with a split manifold and if that engine ever croaks I'll still be throwing another 235 in. It'll be a cold day in hell before a V8 finds a home in my 54.
