The dmples in the Imperial covers appear to be fake / non factory.
Factory exhaust rocker adjuster clearance dimples are flatter than those shown in the picture offered as evidence.
The dimples on the Imperial covers appear to be (perfectly) round, not flattened on the top.

As has been mentioned, anyone with a set of dies can press a dimple into sheet metal.

To prove the point, I just went out in the garage and shot these.

The cover on the right is from my '57 300C engine. Note that the dimples are flattened a bit on the top. Not only is there a front-to-back flat area, but the intake side-to-exhaust side curvature of the dimple isn't symetrical. It's kind of squashed down a bit in the center.

The cover on the left is one of a pair of Imperial covers that were dimpled in the sixties to clear the Milodon rev kit springs on my 331 (punched to 354 with a roller cam)

Anyone with a set of dies can put dimples in steel valve covers.

this is my 354 irrigation pump industrial but, you'll notice, it has Chrysler, not Industrial covers. Note how flat the dimple is in comparison to the dimples on the previuosly-posted Imperial covers. I would guess they were done the same way I dimpled my own Imperial covers (and a few Chrysler FirePower covers as well) over the years and that's with a set of home made dies and a bearing press.

Wow, what's that front mount? Looks like some sort of factory front motor mount. And matching special water pump housing looks like.

Looks like a later model 392 industrial unit from a pump or stationary, but I've never seen that exact front mount.

Did they even offer a 392 Industrial?

This is a DODGE, could be 315-325. The front mount is common for the 241-270 in cars and trucks but look closely and a motor mount ear is visible. easy ID....round bumps for rocker arm = Dodge.

I didn't think so. Occasionally you read about 'em, but I think folks sometimes confuse 'em.

Is the mount just stamped steel? Rubber between it and the water pump housing, or solid with rubber at the frame?

  15. Keith Black, KB on breathers for 426 Hemi. I've seen the same covers with EP for Ed Pink on the breathers....

First picture is a flathead, not a Hemi. Cool, none the less.

These are 392 Valve covers on my K.S. 33. They are pretty much a dead ringer for the originals.

That collection merits a road trip someday!

Too bad my chances of being in the Pacific Northwest anytime soon are nil. Bigfoot's up there man, are you crazy? No way I'm heading up that way. :)
