The flip-flop did not "fall through"- it fell into the inside of the door and I couldnt find it for a few days :). However, the water should be deterred from getting in from underneath. Also- I don't want any salt to get jammed up in there, if say perhaps I go to Bonneville in 2010!!!

I am going to put some insulation inside, at least on the underside of the roof. That sun bakes down on the top and gets it real hot in there.

Looking good but make sure you leave some where for the water to get out underneath though. Dont want it to fill up and rust again.

It was a really nice day here in sunny Kansas, 80*. I was able to get the second and final coat of Zero-Rust on the bottom of the coupe.

My two little helpers were upset that I wouldn't let them help paint the coupe. So I broke out some tempura paints and let them each paint a box that Mommies new rotors came in:

When that was done I did some welding on the underside of the roof:

Today I hope to get the body flipped back over and work on the roof this weekend. :)

I have been working on it. For some reason I can't access my pic account at work though. I'll need to do that from home I guess.

Last weekend I did some more welding with the coupe body upside down.

Then I flipped the body back over with a little help.

The shop was getting more cluttered than usual, so did a "put all the tools away even though I'll need to get them all back out" drill.

Once the body was rightside up and lower- I could start beating on the roof.

    Where are YOUR safety glasses?

Then I redid the lower rear window opening, lining up the inside reveal from the several different body patches.

I took a break to enjoy the Kansas breeze and my girls.

I pretty much worked on the roof all week, beating it into submission. Actually I think it was the other way around.

    Mr Gas Weld.

Made come curved bracing for inside yesterday.

Also installed the new windshield in the frame.

And then worked on the roof some more.

    6 weeks until the HAMB-B-Q....

    Me either!

You mean the part I sold you and you haven't paid me for yet? :):D:) (Just kidding!)

Maybe because I took all those glass jars full of old screws and bolts and hardware with me to Kansas, and added them to the collection that was in the shop here when I bought this place. LOL. Or it could be that I am a messy hack no matter where I live!

I have been working on the rebuild as much as I can find time.

Last weekend I sprayed the inside with Zero-Rust.

    Thanks Jeff hiboy32!

Last night I made an attempt at cutting a new glass face for my speedometer.

Amazingly it came out pretty good. I found a can that was close to the correct diameter, scored it with the glass tool, snapped of the outside pieces, and then cleaned it up with the diegrinder and some 36 rollocs.

Mostly I have been working on getting the roof flat. Boy am I tired of sanding! Me and all the hotrod gods were up all night working on it...

I think I will go read the rest of the HAMB and see how this truly amazing community is getting along....
