I was thinking about putting supremes on my '54 chevy pickup. probably 15 x 6 wheels. I just am not sure they will look right with bias ply white wall tires. I have to run bias plys. Don't like the look of radials. Anybody have any insight?

I would probably put 15 x 5.60 tires up front and a little bit bigger ones out back. If some one is bored would you mind photoshopping me a couple pics of Supremes in bias plys?

    Thanks guys.

I like astros with skinny whitewalls on normal cars. wide whites and astros are OK on 60's show rod type of cars, that's how I see it anyways.

I got a set 14x6's with pinner whites. had 'em on my 49 chevy bomb for a while, and my 61 Dodge too. prolly run them on my current 49 if I ever work on it again.

I agree with the skinny-whites-on-Astro's look. They just look pretty that way! I can't wait to put them on the '62 Olds, with bias ply's of course.

I definitely agree with the need for skinny whites with the supremes. The problem is finding the right tire. I will only run bias plys. The tires i have found at Coker that would be perfect only go to 14s. The supremes i want to run are 15s. Guess I will have to do more searching.

take a look at the Kingstars at Les Schwab, there a radial but look killer. I think Tiny's Tires sell a Eldorado brand, that where killer awhile back. There is one more maker of a ribbon white that I can't remember. I surprised coker doesn't have a 15" bias ply ribbon white, have you done any more research or call them ? Mr Corky Coker sometimes pops up on here, maybe he will read this.

Another vote for skinny whites. I never cared for wide whites on Supremes, but that is just my opinion.

I did just find some Firestone 5.60s that have a 1" white wall. I was hoping to find a little bigger rear set though. The next size with the 1" white wall to match are 6.70s. Too big for the look i am going for i think.

    Thanks for the info.

that 5.60 is a vw bug size, I chose a radial because I drive , my Merc alot. I also have the same size on my 59 wagon. The 215/70-15 worked out nice for both cars that had 14" wheels on them. I do have set of 14" wide white if interested? maybe to wide for what you are doing.

Personally I really dig the look of supremes and WW. It has that "out of the box"... "yeah I did it" feel.

On the other hand. I'm not so sure a truck can pull off the combo like a long 60's boat could.

    IMHO

The US Wheel rims look good,I bought a set since I could not fing any originals.I have seen a few cars with the redline or blueline tires on astros that looked really nice. You would taylor the stripe to the color of the car.

yeah, yeah, I know. You're gonna hate www's with Supremes.

I tend to like it. So do some of my buddy's.

Here's my old gold chevy truck and my old 59 chevy wagon with www's and supremes, and my buddys gold buick with the same set-up.

radials are fine on em... by the time they came out (around 62 for originals, and 65-66 before they really went mainstream) radials were out..

by the time lowrider guys were using em, radials were a norm unless you had the 5.20-5.60 setup which RULES

ive got 175-70-14s on my supremes... but the car is early 70s low low style
