    That's funny that is what I did as well to my 69 Malibu. I also bought a kit to re-cruve the distributor.

    I don't care who you are you can't make a 307 fast!

    My first hot rod circa 1974[IMG]

    After looking at this photo I remembered I first bought rear aluminum wheels with 60 series tires. Then of course air shocks.

    A friend of mine gave the Tri-Power intake and carbs off his 1967 Pontiac GTO 389 engine. He replaced this set up with a single 4 barrel carb.

    I was 15 and did not have a car to put in on but mom drove a Pontiac wagon with a 455 in it. As fate would have it her factory intake/carb started having problems so the Tri-Power went on her '72 Grand Safari wagon! In 1978 I pulled it off and replaced it with a stock unit when a guy I went to high school with offered me $750 for the Tri-Power.

    I was about 10 years old (late 60's). I found an Edelbrock 3 pot manifold in some junk that a tenant left when he vacated one of my dad's rental properties. My dad said I could have it. I sold it at a garage sale for a buck.

  7. [IMG] Ah my sweet mystery shifter for my 3 speed 235 to go along with my rac tach

  8. My first "speed" equipment items were the glass-pack muffler and chrome smoothies I put on my avatar '60 F-100 when I was 16...

    Made the old 223 inch 6 a real scorcher!:rolleyes::eek:

  9. Here we go. I just found an old scanned image of my 1st car. :cool: I had so much fun driving this car around. The guy in the pic is my cousin.

    1964--worked most of the summer to save up enough to buy a Foxcraft floor shifter, a Varnes and Hunter camshaft, and dual smittys for my 54 ford 239 3 speed. My mom wanted me to by school clothes but a pair of jeans could go 7 days without washing!!!!!!!

    I was 15 and my dad bought me a edmunds dual intake for my 49 Plymouth Special Deluxe. He also got me a 6 to 12 volt converter so I could put an am/fm 8-track in it too.

    It was a used Holley 3310, along with a cast iron stocker 4 barrel manifold to replace the 2 barrel setup on my 289 Ford.

  17. My very first peice of speed equipment was a one peice 'glass tilt front end for a 69 GTO. I bought it on my 15th birthday. Parents had a fit as I did not have a car yet. I got my GTO at 15 yrs, 7 months and had the tilt on it by my 16th birthday. I still have the car and the 'glass front end.

    I would have to say The B&M Mega scoop I put on my 72 torino CJ. The car already had the factory CJ scoop on the hood so I just cut a hole in the middle of it for the scoop to stick through. I was 16 and had the most bad ass car in school, LOL. To this day I still have people ask me "Aint you the kid that had the double scoop on that ford?"

  20. Offy Tri-power for my 239 Y-block. It never wound up on my engine, because it didn't have the bell crank bosses on the back, and I pulled the 239. Later replacing it with a Hi-po 292, and a perfect offy big-port tripower intake, with the bosses on the back for my bell crank.
