History Drag cars in motion.......picture thread.

Bad f%#cking ass.

 

I took this in New Zealand in the late 70's. Before it was the Camel Funny car (Maverick body) it was lettered up with Midnight Stroker on the sides. It was imported from USA to NZ as the Midnight Stroker. Anyone have pics of it before it went to NZ?

I don't how many of you know that Jungle loved Corvettes, in fact he was killed in one in the . Anyway, he had Don Kirby build one for him that he ran just a few times and then decided he didn't like it. I believe that he sold the car back to Kirby..could be the Beach City Vette ???.. Damn, I never saw or heard of the Corvette. Musta been while I was on my SE Asia vacation... Looks like the Beach City car is a good possibility. This thread is just so amazing. Thanks to you and Berzerko Bob.

 

If that were the Beach City Corvette, it would have a BB Chevy in it... I'm thinking this is a fancy Photoshop effort, because of the computer font for Steve Kanuka Speed Shops, which is also spelled wrong. It's Kanuika. Nice fake though...
