I thought this was the plan B thread, not the bitch about the cancelled show thread. I was really looking forward to the show this year too but it ain't going to happen so what is the next choice?

I was at the Aley Rally last year. Had a khul vibe. Do we try to set up a new show or do we see what we can to help make the Alley Rally the next big thing?

Best part of the show has been the Music (all day and night), the cars, and the swap(small as it may be.) I have been to shows all over for the last 15 years and this show had some of the coolest people. I love the fact that it attacted a younger crowd too! I don't mind hanging with guys as old as my Grandpa or even Dad, but thier pockets go much deeper. I like to meet a girl or guy around my age that does it different. Not because some magazine told 'em that was the new hot thing but because they wanted to try it.

Let's set this up. What can we do have an event like this in 09?

  3. Thanks for getting this back on track jettback50

actually I've been considering an August Billetproof event in the area.

Not a show. Perhaps a reliability run.

Fire up them rods and drive them. 2 day tour.

  5. Well, lets do it. When and were?

  12. Hows about up north!!!!! North Cascades loop. You need to check it out. From forest to desert with rust towns everywhere.

  13. Ya? What do you know? The whole thing went downhill two years ago when those damn Swindlers ran me outta town. Their evil I tell you. When I get back there there's gonna be hell to pay! I'm really mad.
See Steve. This is exactly what I was talking about.

I have done a lap of washington and it was pretty fun. Would make for a good reliability run. Logistically might be tough to pull off.

Also when I ran it you only had 24 hours to finish, 2 day event would be cool though.

  15. I'll need two days runnin a banger :D

    Indeed.

if I can pull it off. I'll need to get up there and search out a route and set it all up.

perhaps a Lap Around Mt. St. Helens?

    Ultimate reliability run???
Hotrod gumball 3000. Only maybe more like 200... Speeding tickets be damned.

  22. After thinking about the climbs that the old flatheads and older cars with loose steering, and primative brakes "Mechanical" maybe it wouldn't be such a good idea. Overheating in the summer would be a BIG concern. Maybe it would be better doing the Olympic Peninsula . Starting in the Swindlers back yard. Hwy 20 through deception pass all the way back by Gig Harbor. I dont think it would be so grueling and most is pretty flat.
My car wouldn't be ready but I have a 68 Firebird convert with Tri Power and Side pipes that is always willing to haul my ass around!! It has NO BILLET!!!! I could even throw a couple 1929 Whippet parts on it. Inconspicous of coarse. Saving my pennys right now and trying to get the baby Hemi built.

  27. Shit, are you talkin my house? Thats fine and all but I'm 300 miles away. Would put the "relaibility" in reliability run :D

But I do have floor space......

  28. Sounds good. Except if I ever head over to JustDug's place, it's gonna be to deliver a beat-down, and I'm gonna steal the "Patchwork quilt 32" (tm).

    Watch your back douglas.

Seems to me, that with the differences it speeds it might be difficult doing a run anywhere for the banger guys, but as for brakes and steering, a t club does a run around the valley on the curviest backroads out here and they dont have problems, The Antique Motorcycle club used to do one too, some of the guys had to do a bit of petaling going uphill
