    Hey Eracer;
    Do you know if Richard had a brother or relative who ran a 49 Oldsmobile? I found him listed on the 1969 Indy entry list. There can't be two drag racing Charbonneau's from Minn. without them being related can there?

    Too bad you're where you are. You could use my garage to do the rebuild, right alongside my Delivery. I had my Delivery AND a 210, 2 dr station wagon in it that I owned at the same time. Then, I let a friend of mine store his 39 Plymouth Coupe for almost 2 years, free, while I worked around it. It was a rod someone else had started on, and was a running, driving car. It just needed a lot of rework to make it reliable, safe, and bodywork/interiorwork done. He up and put the car on consignment, taking a big loss, but he had just lost interest in it, and was building a motorcoach out of an old pusher bus. Butch/56sedandelivery.

    Hi, Thanks for the interest- Let me start by tellig you that I am the third generation in my family to work for Anderson- my grandfather actually died on the showroom floor of City Olds in 1963! I am 50 now and remember going to thr track with my father to watch this and all the other(prior) Anderson cars in action. This car is in EXTEREMELY ORIGINAL and OUTSTANDING condion. It has never been restored and does not need to be-currently it has 10k original miles, mostly original paint and totally original interior. Recently I had it re-lettered like it was in 1969. It was raced in F/S in 1969, 1970, and part of 1971. It was then sold as a "Company Official Car" with a limited warranty. I have many pieces of original paperwork to authenticate this. I hope to share more info. and stories with everyone that is interested and am looking for more period photos of this car.

    I hear through the grapevines that 75-80 is re-opening. They are supposed to have 10.5 outlaw shows and run 1/8 mile. From what I remember in my racing days, the shut-down area was pretty short. I hear those outlaw guys are running 4.40s in 1/8th. Sounds awful quick for a small tire car.

    Thanks for the offer! That would be cool as hell.You probably have a lot more knowledge than i on the 55-57 chevy's.It's definately my "brand" but a bit before my knowledge point! Now all we need is an air lift delivery and a teleporter!

    A shot of the assembly line for 1951 Oldsmobiles. I wonder how many of these turned up on the drag strip?

  18. Now for a 57 Chevy running a 2x4 283 what kind of intake manifold would you have had to run? An actual 1957 intake or early 60's vette?? I think the car ran a '62 block....need to know what to pick up, thanks

    Hey Mike442 methinks there may some adware/spyware attached to some of your pics...twice today after clicking on the old olds pics I got some porn sites popping up...had to run Spyware Doctor to chase um away.
    Anybody else get this? Maybe it's just my computer.

    Hi Jim, Sorry to hear Tony is gone. My name is Mark Lacovara I was friends with your brother Tony during the years 1961-1967. I ran a 1957 270 hp chev and traveled with him to many tracks. He did all the prep work on my car, heads, carbs, distributer, stahl headers. I went in the army and lost track of Tony and and Danny Salvucci. We were all young kids working at various chevy dealers in phila.Dukes esso was our early club until Tony moved to 51st and Thompson. Great guy and would do anything to help with any problem.

    Thanks Colesy. From skimming thru all 91 pages this past weekend you seem to have lots of info. Also I've noticed you have quite the library of cars. I appreciate yours, and everyones vast knowledge of our drag racing past!!

    Hi Mark. They were great times back then. I remember when Duke would run his Henery J for cash on Merion ave, then go across the street to Vinces and eat a roast pork and break balls. Nobody would ever say anything to Duke. He was a bad ass guy. Do you remember Dannys sister Baby Ann? I had a crush on her. Oh to be young again!!!

    Jim, thanks for replying, I remember Babby Ann had the fastest 300 hp corvette in 1965. Jerry Woods ,Vito Baldini, Gary Tomasello and Danny's brother Georgie was a good friend. I bought a 66 350 hp vette coupe in 1966. ran B sports car against Carlo Volpe's Fuelie Vette that your brother built. Could not beat him! In 1962 I had a 327 chev Impala that I took to the track with Tony. I ran G stock with that car and got beat by Alex Jarrell every week. I remember Vinland drags would not let Tony run his 409 because he took off the front panel behind the license plate frame to attached the tow bar. So after I passed tech inspec I removed it from my car and put it on his car to pass inspection. Those were great times.
