Nah. I had some sheet steel with 3/16th holes in it. And I might put air in the car. So to protect the radiator and when I put a condenser on the front. I made the cover to cover up the ugly...ghost

Hey mink; Looks good by the pic. comfort/position/reach pedals/steering wheel, etc all come into play. A mistake I made was I didn't provide for easy chopping/lowering of the seat and had to rebuild it because I ended up with inadequate headroom. Looks like that would be no problem with the way you're sculpturing the foam, in case you need to tweak it later.

If foam had been available in 1930, seat spring builders would have had no business! :D

I can't tell from the picture but now is the time to get it............
I like to have a bit of a bend in my knee when the gas or brake pedal is to the floor., just put foot under the brake pedal on the floor.
Maybe if you tilted the seat back to the rear a little bit, try lifting the front of the seat up?

Sorry to jump in the middle of this. But I think your seat is too far forward and the back looks like it is sitting up too straight. I'll post a pic of mine to compare the seat in reference to the center of the door and the b piller. I've got mine really comfortable and with plenty of leg room. But keep in mind that my firewall has been moved back. But all the trimming and work you've got done is paying off...ghost

Nash I took your measurements and followed them exactly and this it where it left my steering wheel. Seems low compared to where yours is located from looking at a frontal view of the two.

    Probably me

If you haven't done so already read through this thread front to back. Might take awhile but it will give you some insight into your 29, and what you will be up against. Otherwise it could be rather frightening if you haven't built a wood structure chevy before. good luck, and your nova sounds really cool...ghost

If I could comment on the seat install (I am a trimmer, but not saying I know it all) it may have been covered here before but it is a good idea to take the foam out of the center of the seat rather than cutting the end off, it make for less work fitting the cover at the sides, its just a matter of taking out the amount required out of the middle and gluing the 2 halves back together, the 3m trim adhesive works good for this. Sorry in advance if this has been talked about before

Hey steel ...That's what this site is for just jump in. As for you floors I believe you were gonna channel your car. If that is so then you might have to lose, or remove then reinstall them. If the metal is good then reuse it whenever possible. As for the guages yours are really in good shape they would have to be converted over to 12 volts on some. Others just rebuilt but it gets rather expensive but would add a cool touch to your car. I have my original guages also. But I have bought new aftermarket guages to replace them...ghost

Mink... looking at you and nashs pictures it looks like your pretty close. How does it feel at 10 - 2 with your hands as far as comfort. It's what you like and your style of driving. Sit in your daily and go by that for feel that might help...ghost
