It's a 2 1/2 inch chop with particular attention paid to keeping the quarter windows proportioned. Bleed Rules!
Hahahaha 2 1/2 inches........ that's what you think....... no one will ever know.... hahahaha Thats a great car..... glad to be a part of it....... I have ton's of pics of the chop on the shop computer.... THANK YOU for giving me the opportunity to chop it. Sivatone should make an amp I can't break...
Awesome, Kevin - simply Awesome. I've always wanted a '34 coupe...had a tudor for a while, but always (still) wanted a coupe...
We drove down from Shreveport this weekend to see Bleed's band play at the Continental Club. Kev had the '34 there and it is awesome. He's just got an eye for hot rods. Oh yeah, and the Jade idol rocked the house. Doc.
Here's some chop pics........ When I first heard we were chopping Kevin's car I started looking at pics of chopped 34 5 windows and I got kind of bummed out.... Most of them get kind of goofy looking..... Obviously there are good examples and some of the hard chopped comp coupes are kick ***.... but alot of them are just kind of awkward looking... The quarter windows get all stretched and weird..... I almost was convinced that 5 windows after 1932 should just be left stock.... so I stared at Kevin's coupe for awhile and decided to do whatever it took to keep the proportions as close to stock as I could..... I ended up moving the top forward instead of adding to it..... I'm super proud of the results.... I also leaned the front posts...... Again thanks to Kevin for the opportunity...
This part was scary.... haha Somehow I got rapped up in working and forgot to take pics after that pne..... but you get the idea..... Here's some finished pics..... The proportions stay true to stock and it has the illusion of being chopped more than it actually is......
Bobby Bleed you have done this car a service. It ****ing awesome and it's got cl*** out the ***. Tasteful and true to an early 50's Hot Rod. You are coming up my friend.
So the secret was moving the c pillar forward to keep the quarter window from stretching? This in turn makes the deck lid a bit longer and sleeker like a 35-36? I have no idea what I am talking about but I am learning I guess.
The car looks bad *** Kevin. When I first saw the pics I thought something looks different(compared to most 5 window chops) the windows arent wonky. Thanks for showing us the way Bob.
