I dont have enough stress in my life so I took the front of the motor off last night.

A friend came over today and degree'd my cam. It seems Comp Cams puts an extra 4 degrees advance hidden in the grind and it showed up on the dyno p***es in the RPM. I guess they do that so the average knucklehead can put a big cam in their stock chevelle and have it run ok.

    See you guys Saturday.

I'll be there but with a different car. Just trade the T for a '64 Chevelle SS.

As you go into the Speedworld, you should drive right by the HAMB area. I'll be looking for all of you as you go by. We'll get everyone parked in there.

    See you all tomorrow morning!

  12. I had a good time. I parked my GTO and ended up spending most of the day in tower on the mike with Hal. It was fun and weather was as good as a promotor can ask for.
It was also a pleasure to meet a few hambers in person including Spike and Glen.
here are some of my pics.

Don't forget! 3 weeks from today is my deal, everyone is invited!

Man we had a blast today....the stuff I did this week seem to pay off. I ran a 11.54 on this daylight run.

    <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/du4I5hxyDV0&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/du4I5hxyDV0&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

We waited around until evening and tried it again, it was nice and cool but the car spun and slipped for a long ways off the line and ran a 11.6. The tire pressure had dropped to 6 psi in the cool evening and I think that was too low. The p*** above was at 7.5 psi.

Thanks to all those that stopped by.

It weighs 3400 lbs. with a 406 sbc and ran a new fastest time of 11.83 yesterday.

That is Justin, he is like a brother to me, we get into a lot of trouble together. Thanks for the picture.

Yup, that goofy lookin' fella is me. I got as far semi-finals in the Trophy cl***, final 3 cars in a field of about 25. It was an ugly trip to the semis for me, all my runs were terrible, but my opponents were all kind enough to red light. Once at the semis, I ran aginst a *****in' 426 Max Wedge powered '64 Dodge and my buddy Bob drew a by run in his '57 Ford Pick Up. My last run was a good one, but the guy in the Dodge beat me by 4 hundredths of a second, pretty close. My buddy bob then beat the Dodge in the finals.

I spent the entire day at the track, made a bunch of p***es and had a blast. My thanks to Marc and Spike and the Standard 1320 guys for puttin' on this shindig.

That guy was me Justin. My name on the board is THESNEAKYTIKI. Do you have any other pics of the car from the event? I would love to see them. Thanks

  23. I was really impressed with your car, I think these pics are from the 11.8 run. I've seen your ride at the GoodGuys last fall and a couple of times elsewhere. One of these days I'm going to be asking you about your set up.

I've already weeded out most of the pics from the event, but here's what I have left that you'd be interested in:

Thank's to everybody that attended and helped spread the word about our race & show, Also a Big Thanks to Pete-(49 Flatty) & Jason & Megan-(AZWillis) for hosting the HAMB area - directing the car show parking - hanging banners and raising pop up canopys. I'll be posting pics soon, I took a couple of days off to unwind. :D

  30. Thanks to everyone Spike mentioned and also to each and everyone who attended. This was our biggest event yet, and it proves that, even in this economy... Old cars are where it's at ! ...
    *********
We've decided to run our Straight Axle Elimator as a regular category, as opposed to a bonus deal...which means you'll be able to tech in to that cl*** and time trial with the other entries.
Now we'll need to decide whether to just have a sponsor for that cl*** and pay winner only, or do you guys want to kick in a lane fee . We would pay back 100% of that money ,and go back atleast to the semi's , or more
I'm open to suggestions on this.

Oh yeah, one more thing for now .
Congratulations to Ken Ackman (aka Spike) ,who picked the pocket of his good friend Willie Wray, of Auto and Truck Spe******t, who posted the award money in this cl***.
Spike downed all the compe***ion ,for a big first place win , using a .008 light in the final to shut down veteran bracket- racer Leno Cimarroli and his straight- axle Mustang.

I'll post some pics soon ,and don't forget our next race date at the bottom of this page.

    MY
