I need an answer for a simple question, Figured I'd ask the experts. Alot of straight axel gasser type cars have the spring shackle up front, most stock pickups etc.. they are on the back. What is the advantage of running the shakles up front? Blacksheep1
so you can nose it up and not have the load to the rear. shackleing it to the rear would do nothing but bend the springs down and raise the rear..picture it in your head..it'll come to ya
If your asking about cross spring?;Wt. transfer, with cross spring ahead of axles ya can run softer spring that moves more before axles is lifted,so gets more lb.s to the rear faster. Now if your asking about parallel spring to each side ,idea is then shackels up front lets that spring move EZer at that end before trying to lift axle, letting more lb.s more on to rear wheels. The point is to hook up the rear tires better, this also why most started out with front so high up[drag ass]
