Oh crap! I never thought of that.

I guess I will clean the ball good and be more careful next time.

  2. No, the car wasn't at Viva last year, I had the Green 5W there. Barring disaster it will be there this next time though. I made the pressure plates (on both cars) from 3/16" Stainless Steel and they are polished.

Have you seen this style Airwheel caps before ?

They look like a larger diameter than the ones that you have.

Simon.....Cool!!! I would bet they are to fit Ford wide five wheels. Then again I saw a strange wheel at Hershey that needed a large cap like that.

Beings I like all things Goodyear airwheel.....let me know if you ever want to get rid of it or them.

This is a Firestone cap that I would guess covers a wire wheel.

  17. I have a set of 4 15 x 8.5 aluminum slots with Dan Gurney cast into the rear face. Are they rare by any means? Paid $100.00 for the full set which was a great deal....

Definitely not 1936 Willys - these are 4 bolt Nash, made by Budd Mfg. - as I recall. Fitted to 1935/36 Nash Lafayette.

Here are some, not sure they are all rare.. but I like them ;-)

Some nice ET mags, that look like they are magnesium that had chrome over them at one point. Not sure they are rare, but I'm planning to use them ;-)

    Rob at HR:
I'd try Panhard, or Renault before 1956 or so.
    The Michelin looks period, too.

These are ET X (10?) 14x6.75 and 15x7.75. I have four of each and I've seen only one other set.

I had these on my '36. They're '39-'47 Ford 3/4 ton truck wheels -- wide 5 pattern, 16 x 5, but without the artillery spoke centers. The car had one as a spare when I got it, and I looked for a long time to find several more. Shown here wearing a '38 Ford cap.

These must be fairly rare because I can not find anyone that can tell me anything about them. I have been looking for 3 years for a forth wheel to complete a set.
    16x4.5 / 5 on 5.5 bolt pattern.

18" adjustable spokes, in good enough shape to make coffee tables, I suppose, but I couldn't pass on them for $5 each.

    I'm impressed.

Actually have 6 of them, and the car they go on, trying to sell the car (with the wheels) have too many projects.

Actually the others guys were right, Berkeley. These are from a S-E 492 1958 model titled as a 1959. And yes, the tires are period correct and 5 out of the 6 hold air!
