I'm not looking for high performance. I'm just curious. Does a log style intake really work? It's ugly as sin. The only reason I'm curious is because no one makes a 4x2 for the 394 olds skyrocket. I like the 3x2 just as much as anyone, but I love Milner's 32 Ford with the 4x2 intake atop that 327 Chevy. It just looks cool. That brings an idea to mind. Log style intake. Now I hate the way they look, but I know I can make one pretty. What can I say. I am all American. If they don't make it, make your own. Does anyone have any horror stories? Any stories of people having too much plenum, and the damn thing exploding? I have an ideal for making the cross over solid instead of connected with a rubber hose. I will cover the logs with sheet metal and do my best to make it appear like a fabricated (or even cast) manifold. Any horror stories? Let me know.
Cragar and Horne made a 4x2 for the 303/324 olds, surely that carried over to the later models! Here a pic of one on my wall.
Here's the one "no one makes". having too much plenum, and the damn thing exploding Why would that happen?
I don't believe you. Now I have had a few 371 intakes and they look exactly like the 394, but they are not. They are just too small. Everything down to the last detail looks the same, but the ports are much smaller than the 394. Get me a measurement of the ports and then I will believe you.
Exactly. Its not real. You would have had everyone else fooled, but you can't fool me. Believe me. I know what I am talking about. Just because its a 371 olds intake does not make it a 394 olds intake. I know you don't care, but let me educate your dumb ***. There were two different 371 Oldsmobile engine blocks, an early block and a late block. The early block mimics the 303 and the 324. It looks just like these blocks, but it has a larger bore. It still has the two-bolt valve covers and the small intake ports. It was a damn good engine. The late 371 block was the 394 block. While it had a smaller bore, it had the larger intake ports that the 394 is known for. This is why people like yourself automatically ***ume that the 371 olds is the same as the 394 olds. Yes, they did make 4x2 intakes for the EARLY 371, but not for the later 371/394 Olds Skyrocket. Now, you make the claim that Edelbrock did make this intake. Would you understand why I am so cynical to your claim? I asked you to prove it. You declined. Yours is a fake just like your manhood.
I'm sure someone out there thinks you're great, but I think you've got a super ****ty at***ude. lol As for your statements, do the research yourself. No one here is gonna wanna help you out with that "I know everything" **** you're slinging around. As for your problem with finding this manifold (Which they did make..... I even have one! hahaha), I think I can speak for everyone when I say.... Who cares? *****Sidenote: You may want to research the olds stuff a little closer Captain Knowitall. You've got a lot of misinformation in the above, and frankly, I don't think you're worth trying to educate about it. So, continue making it harder to find what you need based on your confusion, cause it's hilarious. Especially when the parts you need aren't actually all that hard to come by, and you're just to arrogant and egotistical to realize it. Welcome to the JJ, where everyone knows more than you apparently do. lol Good luck.
Oh, and the fact that you added excessive wording and bravado to the amazing concept of making a solid crossover instead of using rubber hose shows what a dramatic and "oooooh aaahhhhh" kind of person you are. lol You're not reinventing the wheel here, and honestly man, you're not doing anything super new. You don't even understand the concept of plenums (blowing one up? WTH are you talking about? lol)...... so you don't really expect us to believe you have some reason to harbor such an at***ude, now do you?
