Wow! Don't know when I've seen a photo that depicts the good old days better. The guy running down the drag strip in a roadster with no helmet or roll bar, the open megaphone on the Matchless, the guys with their collars up standing right next to the track. Cool!!

Porky Zartman, driver of the famous "Filthy Forty" Willys C/G***er was the driver of this car too. He won the World Series of Drag Racing in Cordova, Illinois with it and also set a Standard 1320 Drag News Record. Before the B/Comp coupe he also drove this C/Altered Chevy.

looks like that last shot of the 'Goose shows an M&H decal on the car, but he's using Gooodyear slicks!

I beleive this is Joe Winters car with Winter himself behind the wheel. His unique sitting position is attributed to the need to accomodate one of his amputated legs-Winter had bone cancer. Note the simple face mask allowing the side of his neck to be exposed.

Where is this pic from? This is Jiggs Shamblin 1958. The next year he teamed with the Hollish Bros, using this ch***is to build "MISCALCULATION No.2" thanks Todd
